Can't Say Goodbye by Eden Finley

BRADY

Our quick hellos are followed by drawn out goodbyes.

What started out as one fun night turned into a regular thing none of us ever planned for.

I can’t walk away from Kit and Prescott. Kit is the stern nurturer I need. He’s the caretaker, the solid presence. Prescott enables my wild ways. He’s someone I can have fun with. They couldn’t be more perfect for me.

But come graduation, I have to move across the country, and geography isn’t our only obstacle. Being in a relationship with two men isn’t good for my public image, my brother’s NFL career, or the media frenzy that surrounds my famously queer family.

We have a plan to meet up once a year, but with every reunion, every brief visit, we fall deeper.

There has to be a breaking point, something that will end it for us, or soon it will be impossible to say goodbye at all.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

To start off! If you have read Franklin U's Football Royalty (or even a few others in that series) then you will recognize Brady. And you'll recognize his two Navy SEALs, if you you definitely read Football Royalty. Because it is Brady's turn for a story! When Brady first hooked up with Kit and Prescott, he never imagined it would have gone on for more than one night. Or that it would even last months after that. And he wasn't alone, Prescott and Kit were both surprised by Brady coming into their lives. Prescott and Kit aren't a couple, though Kit certainly wishes they were. It's against the rules but to get around that they always hook up with another person. Which is how they meet Brady. But when Brady comes into their lives, they realize that there was something missing all along. And that was Brady. For Brady, he knows something is missing in any relationship he starts and it wasn't until he met Prescott and Kit that he realized what that meant. A lot of learning and discovery between the three of them. But things are complicated. Prescott and Kit are always away for weeks or months at a time. Brady is about to graduate college and the move to New York. And then later Kit decides to take a position in Virginia. But none of them are willing to let go just yet. An agreement to meet on leave will lead to so much more as time slowly goes by for them all. I loved their story! So many ups and downs, but I loved reading how these three navigate a complicated relationship yet one none of them are truly ready to let go of. Instead they'll fight for what they want through all the challenges that come their way. A great book by Eden Finley!
