Relationship Goals Book 3: The Waiting Game by Brigham Vaughn

Relationship Goals Book 3

Fans Have Mixed Reactions to Engagement of Fisher Cats’ Hale and Brewer

On the eve of their first playoff game this post-season, the Toronto Fisher Cats organization sent out a press release announcing the engagement of their top d-pair.

The release insinuates the childhood friends may have been involved as far back as college and makes it clear the front office supports the relationship. “We are confident that such a longstanding relationship will be nothing but beneficial to Felix in his recovery.”

Reactions are mixed.

An anonymous inside source stated, “Legit? No way. This whole thing’s a PR stunt to soften the public’s perception of Hale.”

One fan commented, “Hale & Brewer have always been so adorable together! It’s great they finally feel comfortable being out about their relationship!”

While many fans are similarly supportive, others speculate that the announcement is tied to the Cats’ shaky play of late. “We all know they’re not gonna make it past the first round,” one fan stated. “It’s just an attempt to distract from how weak the team is.”

Adding fuel to the controversy, Hale shared an image of the players naked in bed together and captioned, “Pre-game nap with Jonah before we take on the Montreal Lynx. Go, Cats!”

PR stunt or happily engaged couple? Only time will tell.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Felix and Jonah have been best friends since they were five years old. When Jonah lost his parents and moved in with his grandparents, meeting Felix was exactly what he needed. They became best friends ever since. Years later, they are still best friends and even play on the same NHL together. But recently things haven’t been easy. After a bad break up with his girlfriend, Felix hit a pretty bad low point. One that eventually lead to an accident that pushed him into rehab for his alcohol addiction. Now months later, he is in a lot better shape but he can’t help but feel like he has changed. Or more like discovering things about himself that he didn’t realize before. And one of those things? Jonah. He is starting to see him a lot differently and wonders if their friendship can be so much more. And if so, can Felix provide Jonah with it? Meanwhile, Jonah has been hopelessly in love with his best friend since he was a teenager but knew it could never go anywhere since Felix is straight. But Felix has been looking at him a bit differently lately. Can he have hope? But before he can look too close Felix is suddenly spouting the idea of a fake engagement between them and well it looks like they’ll have a chance to discover what something between them could really be. One of the funniest parts of this book is that they decide to do this fake engagement (for a number of reasons) but when they decide to tell their core friends/teammates, no one believes it’s fake! It’s hilarious because everyone around them is convinced Felix and Jonah have been a couple for a while now and maybe even years earlier before Felix was in a longterm relationship. But everyone around them could see they were meant to be. These two just needed to see it too. Or more like Felix. A fun and sweet book all around. I loved also seeing how far Felix has come in dealing with his addiction. Things get hard and he keeps on fighting to be better. Loving this series! And sweet Matty is next! I’m so excited to see him find his happy ending.
