Puckboys Book 8: Possessive Puckboy by Eden Finley & Saxon James

Puckboys Book 8

Connor

Finding out those closest to me don’t see me as the great guy I think I am not only kicks me in the gut, it makes me question everything.

Until that happened, I didn’t think I had many regrets in my life. Now, I have nothing but regrets. And when my NHL team is bought out, and the new owner makes his presence known, my existential crisis kicks up a notch. Because he might be my biggest regret of all.

Parker Duchene.

I made his life a living hell in high school, and now he’s inserting himself into my career to repay the favor.

With everything in my personal life already on the line, I can’t risk hockey too. I need to figure out a way to play nice with the new owner.

Parker

I bought Colorado’s NHL team to honor my late father. I did. Only reason.
Emotionally playing with one of my many high school tormentors is a nice bonus though.

Connor Kikishkin may be the one who made me the target for years of name-calling, but I’ve always wondered if my hatred for him bordered too much on the obsessive side to truly be classified as hate.

Infatuation is probably the right word for it.

Now his whole life is in my hands, and I can’t wait to see him beg for my mercy. Seeing Mr. Popular find his humility will definitely ease the grief from losing my dad … right? Because right now, that’s all I have, and I need to hold on to it so I don’t crumble.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

It’s just been a bad time for Connor. First, he gets into a huge blow up with his brother. He had always thought he was doing exactly what his parents wanted from him. Protecting his brothers and their hockey careers. But when Easton finally calls him out on how terrible it’s made him feel, Connor realizes that he really is overbearing like his brother accused him of. And he needs to step back and fight everything instinct that tells him to be protective. But he can’t be that guy anymore. One that everyone clearly doesn’t like. On top of that, the nerdy guy in high school that his hockey team bullied and Connor didn’t do anything about, has bought the team. He owns Connor and his career and by the looks of it, he is ready to mess with Connor in anyway he can. But this is just another jab at Connor to force him to realize he has no clue who he really is and maybe it’s time to find out. Meanwhile, Parker bought Colorado’s hockey team to owner his dad who passed. Tormenting Connor a bit for his role in his miserable time at high school? A bit of a bonus. But as they clash, Parker can admit that a lot comes from feelings for Connor he had and the more they go toe to toe, the more he realizes that getting revenge doesn’t really feel all that great. And when they finally have a real talk and clear the air and apologize, well turns out that there actually may be something between them. Really loved Connor and Parker’s story! It was an emotional one. Connor is going through a lot. He realizes he really doesn’t know himself at all and wants to discover who that person is. And one thing he learns quickly is how he feels for Parker and his possessive side comes out and is in no way gonna let him go. He really goes through quite a journey in this book. I love that Parker is finding his place and his people. Things he never really had. He’s been alone for a while and even though he has financial stability, it doesn’t mean much when you have no one to share with. I loved how their relationship built over time for them to find their happy ending. Another great book to this series!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
