Legacy of Gods Book 6 |
I fell for the villain.
It happened back when I was a clueless girl.
But he ruthlessly broke my heart and trapped it in a jar.
Since then, I’ve sworn to hate him to the end of my days.
Eli King might be a savage devil, but I’m out of his way. And league.
That is until I wake up in a hospital and find him holding my hand.
He tells me the words that change my life forever.
“We got married two years ago, Mrs. King.”
So I set out to investigate how I landed myself into this marriage.
Turns out, my memories are darker than my present.
I thought I was ready for the hurricane.
I thought I could handle his soulless eyes and cold shoulder.
I thought wrong.
Nothing can stop my husband.
Not the secrets surrounding us.
Not the hatred between us.
Not even me.

My Review: 4/5 Stars
The end of the series finally brings us Ava and Eli’s story! Ava has always had feelings for Eli but the day she told him only ended with a broken heart when he told her he would never feel the same. From then on, she swore to get over him. But then at uni all these two did was find ways to sabotage the other. Attention grabbed at every moment all while trying to avoid each other. Now, while the story starts with Ava basically breaking a bit. She is out of control when it comes to drugs and alcohol and we also learn that she has very serious mental illness issues. But after a night that ends with drinking while driving and feeling followed, she wakes up to learn that not only has two years passed since that night, but she also married her nemesis: Eli. A lot has apparently changed in that time but Ava is determined to find answers. All while wrestling this new reality and the fact that despite her best, she is finding her feelings for Eli morphing into something much stronger than hate. There was a lot to unpack in this story. It definitely kept me on my toes as I tried to figure out alongside Ava what happened to her in the past two years and how Eli fits into it all. But I also I loved getting to know Eli bit by bit. He was always pretty closed off and while we knew there must be something unsolved between him and Ava in previous books, it was nice to finally see what that meant. A nice way to the end the series! I’m glad we aren’t done with all these characters just yet since I spy a spin off with a few familiar faces. As well as the fact that I need to backtrack and read the rest of Rina’s books!
