Legacy of Gods Book 1 |
I caught the attention of a monster.
I didn’t ask for it.
Didn’t even see it coming.
But the moment I do, it’s too late.
Killian Carson is a predator wrapped in sophisticated charm.
He’s cold-blooded, manipulative, and savage.
The worst part is that no one sees his devil side.
I do.
And that will cost me everything.
I run, but the thing about monsters?
They always chase.

My Review: 4/5 Stars
And with that one book, I think I’ve just fallen down the rabbit hole of Rina Kent’s books! Especially when I learned she has several series that come before this and take place in this same world. Looks live I’m starting at the end of that timeline and will have to work my way back! With that said, you can definitely read this and not have to know all the books before that. I think it’s just one of those instances where you would appreciate it more reading the other stuff so when characters’ names come up you can connect the dots. But for me, that just means I’ll go back eventually! So for this first book, the story follows Killian and Glyndon. And I’ll admit, it took me a minute to get into the story. It’s a dark romance, something I’m familiar with, but you just never know what lines will be crossed and how far these characters are willing to go. But the more I kept reading, the more intrigued I was by the characters as I got to know them. When Glyndon catches the eye of Killian, she has no idea what that means. but she can feel that she is the prey to Killian’s predator. He doesn’t feel the way most people do, something she is familiar with growing up with a brother who is like that. And though she may not have wanted his attention or been prepared for it, deep down, she needed it. He wakes up a part of her that has been buried for too long. And the more she faces him instead of running away (though not like she could without him coming after her!), the more she understands this monster. And for Killian, Glyndon has hit attention in a way no one else has ever come close to. And he’s determined to keep her. But getting her to accept that is a whole other thing. Especially when there is someone out there ready to tear it down. I really liked getting to know the cast of characters in this story. It made me super excited for everyone else’s books! This book is dark and gritty and yet you come out happy for these characters that they are together. I’m really looking forward to seeing where this series takes us!
