He's the one I swore I'd never ever fall for.
A teammate’s betrayal. A banishment. A secret revealed.
That’s all it took to unravel my life at the seams.
The punishment for my past mistakes goes further than expulsion,
and penance can only come from the worst hell
Summer camp.
Ten weeks spent wrangling a bunch of kids is bad enough,
only to get worse when I meet my new co-counselor.
The back-stabber himself.
Kaleb LaMothe.
Being forced to coexist adds more tension to our already shaky foundation,
but it also pushes us to uncover deeper parts of each other.
Until animosity becomes a feeling far more dangerous.
An attraction so potent, I lose sight of why I’m stuck in the wilderness to begin with.
And if I’m not careful, I might lose something else entirely.
Like my heart.

My Review: 5/5 Stars
I’ve been so excited for this book since the moment it was announced and it is finally here! First, read Don’t You Dare before this book. While you can technically read this as a standalone, you’re gonna want to get the full background on Avery and why he is where he is when the book starts. It makes his second chance and redemption store all the better. So the story starts with Avery getting expelled from college after doing something he deeply regrets. He outed his teammate and his boyfriend very publicly. He knows he messed up and he let his anger and hurt truly blind him before realizing what he did crossed a line. Now, his dad got it in his head that he can get back into school if he attends summer camp as a counselor. A summer camp that the dean’s brother runs. A stretch? Avery definitely believes so and Colin, the director, knows exactly why Avery is at his camp. But he believes in second chances and that people shouldn’t be judged for life on one mistake. So Avery will work at camp. But with the last person he expects. Kaleb. The guy who was not only his baseball teammate but the guy who turned Avery in for his actions. The beginning of camp is tension all around until they both snap. And when they do? Well some truths are revealed and the chemistry that has been sparking between them ignites. This summer will give Avery a chance to find the courage to be who he is and the person to help him may just well be Kaleb. Kaleb doesn’t want Avery at camp. Not after what he did. But even Kaleb can also see that when Avery lets his guard down, he sees the guy he met freshman year. The man he was once friends with and even attracted to. Kaleb starts to really see that there is so much more under the surface that is Avery and maybe he deserves a second chance. If he is brave enough to take it. I really loved this story! I sat down in one sitting and read it. I couldn’t put it down. I loved getting to know Avery and see exactly what he was going through to make him do what he did. That there is so much more to him and little by little he was fighting to be himself. Really, really great story all around! You don’t want to miss the emotional rollercoaster that was this story! With an ending that was well earned after everything they’ve been through.
