Hockey Guys Book 3 |
One cold December day, two men are blindsided by a hockey trade; one is the most decorated goalie in the league, while the other one is the youngest coach in the majors.
Jethro Hale is the last player Coach Clay Powers wants to see on his roster, but the G.M. pulls a fast one. And it's not like he can even explain why. Nobody knows about their love affair fifteen years ago.
Cue the all-star awkwardness, the painful memories and the reawakening of deep feelings on both sides.
Unfortunately, their attraction still burns brightly. But it can never be. A player and a coach? The scandal would overshadow the team's banner year.
If only they could resist each other...
If you love grumpy heroes, high stakes hockey, struggling single parents and smoldering kisses, grab your copy of The Last Guy on Earth.

My Review: 5/5 Stars
No one is more shocked than Clay and Jethro when they hear the news. Jethro never expected to be traded midseason. Especially when he has been with his Detroit team for a very long time. And it would be one thing if it was just him, but he has to bring his father and his nephew, who he has temporary custody over, with him. And no one is happy about the move. Especially when the coach at Colorado is Clay. The man he hasn’t seen in fifteen years. Clay is pissed. When the GM goes behind his back and trades for Jethro to be their goalie, he couldn’t be more angry. Because who wants to see the guy who broke his heart 15 years earlier? The guy he still isn’t over. Painful memories have a way of coming back full force. And they’ll have to finally confront the past if they have any chance of taking the cup this year. Though these two have a rocky start, it does force them to rethink the past. A lot has changed since then. And both are beginning to realize that the feelings they have for one another are coming back stronger than ever. But a player and a coach? No way can anything happen. They’ll just have to see where the season takes them. Another great addition to this series and world! And oof does it really hit you in the feels. It’s clear to see how much Clay loved Jethro but they were young and in a world that wasn’t quite ready for them. And Jethro just couldn’t see yet what Clay was to him. Not with a family like his. But I loved their second chance romance. I love how these two found their way back to one another. Through ups and downs, hockey related and not, I couldn’t put this story down as I cheered for these two to get their happy endings!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
