Swallow Cove Book 4: Resting Beach Face by DJ Jamison

Swallow Cove Book 4

He could have anyone he wants...so why is he so interested in me?

Cash is a gorgeous chaotic bi guy with a reputation for getting around. And me? I'm the antisocial grump, closed off and lonely.

We should be like oil and water. They say opposites attract, but when you're graysexual, that equation doesn't balance out.

Or does it?

When Cash gets close, my defenses begin to crumble one by one. Each warm smile, each friendly gesture or hug makes me realize what I'm missing.

Cash's sunny warmth is like a ray of light breaking through the clouds. I can't help but soak it up.

But can I really trust the town player to keep my heart safe when no one else ever has?

Resting Beach Face is Book 4 of Swallow Cove. It includes grumpy/sunshine and forced proximity tropes, a quirky lake town, and gray ace rep.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

The final Swallow Cove book and it’s finally Cash and Declan’s turn! We’ve seen these two throughout the series and have noticed how much Cash flirted with Declan and clearly had some feelings but Declan didn’t look like he was affected by Cash and immune to the flirting. However, not everything is at it seems and there is a lot more to the both of them. Cash has been known as the hook up guy. Yet, he has finally reached a point where it’s just not something he wants anymore and can acknowledge that hooking up was an excuse not to be at home where family troubles awaited him. Now, it’s been over eight months of not hooking up and hopefully showing Declan that he has changed. Meanwhile, Declan has been burned before by past relationships. Being on the asexual spectrum makes it difficult to have a physical relationship with someone when they expect you to be a certain way. It’s been a long time since he has tried to have a relationship but even he can admit there is something about Cash that gets under his skin. And lately, well, things are changing. While Declan is deciding whether or not to sell his B&B, something he felt has never been his thing but he wanted to honor his aunt, he lets Cash convince him to at least fix it up more and make it into the place his aunt imagined. In doing so, Declan may just find what he wants to do while also giving himself a chance to really see Cash. I adored these two! They finally are giving one another a chance and to really see and get to know one another. Declan may fear that he isn’t enough for Cash but he just has to realize how much Cash truly adores him just the way he is. I loved their dynamic the more we got to know them. A beautiful end to this wonderful series! I can’t wait for the next series in this world filled with such rich characters!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
