Not Another Love Song by Julie Soto

Two string players fight their attraction for each other as they compete for center stage in this spicy and emotional romance.

Gwen Jackson and Xander Thorne are both musical prodigies, but each has had very different paths to success. Xander was born into classical music royalty, while Gwen had a natural ear for music that was nurtured by a kind shop owner.

After Gwen performs at his friend’s wedding, she’s mortified when she realizes Xander has no clue who she is—despite having worked together for a year at the Pops Orchestra. But she’s more furious that he arrogantly critiques her performance.

When Gwen is offered the role of First Chair of the orchestra, something Xander had secretly coveted for years, their existing hostility goes up a notch. But their respect for each other's music is undeniable, and their onstage chemistry off the scale. As they begin to explore their feelings for one another, suddenly they're box office dynamite and the fragile romance that's growing between them is in danger of being crushed beneath a publicity stunt...

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Officially obsessed with Julie Soto’s books! I can’t wait for more to come out by her. I loved Forget Me Not and was happy to see a character that appeared in that book to get his own book. Not Another Love Song has lots of familiar faces for a bit from that book and I adored Gwen and Alex’s story. Gwen and Alex aka Xander are musical prodigies with very different careers. Gwen performs for Pops Orchestra and is happy to have a consistent job and taking side gigs when she can. While Xander has a band and pretty famous. Yet, for the last year he has been at Pops. Not that he has noticed Gwen. But he has now. When she performs at a wedding and is asked to play cello rather than her violin last minute, she borrows Alex’s. And she leaves quite an impression on him. She even reveals that they’ve been working together already and leaves it at that. But Alex is enchanted. Soon Gwen is asked to take first chair of the orchestra, an honor. But she doesn’t realize that is something Alex wanted. Not until she realizes exactly who he is. Then when the two run into one another more often than not, the chemistry between them just gets more and more intense. And when they actually make music together? Explosive. These two are clearly meant to be. There are still challenges and complications but when there is a strong as connection that these two have? Well, it deserves to be fought for. Adored this book. So, so good. I loved Gwen and Alex’s characters and getting to know them. I loved their undeniable chemistry and passion between one another and music. Such a great story, I really couldn’t put it down!
