No Holds Barred Book 1: Hooks In by Eve Holmes

No Holds Barred Book 1

Hatred often walks in disguise.

Rival MMA fighters Ty Roscoe and Luca Mitchell have been battling for the top spot in the rankings for years. Evenly matched in skill and constantly stripping each other of number one, the rivalry continues to grow and extend outside the cage. Knowing just how to push each other’s buttons, a deep hatred shadows their shared goal of becoming the best fighters they can be. And when an opportunity comes knocking to train at an elite MMA gym, they each think they’ll leave the other behind once and for all.

But when they end up at the same gym, under the same coach, the tension only rises. For the first time ever, they’re not fighting against each other. As they are forced to work as teammates, the battle for dominance is only amplified. They each have something the other needs, and the more time they spend training on the mats and in the boxing ring, they now realize they aren’t fighting each other… they’re fighting something else.

Their dynamic morphs, the tension evolves, and the hate drops its mask. They know everything there is to fight each other. But now, they have so much more to learn.

Submission was never in the cards.
But outside the cage, will the gloves finally drop?

Hooks In is book 1 in the No Holds Barred duet and ends on a HFN. Book 2 will be a continuation of Ty and Luca’s story.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

The first part of Luca and Ty’s story was so good! I’m super excited to dive into the next book with them. So Luca and Ty are MMA fighters and have been rivals for a long time. They just know how to get on one another’s nerves and throw them in the cage? Well, things get heated quick. They are constantly battling for the first and second spots. Now, the two of them have worked so hard and they get recruited by an elite gym to take theirs skills to the next level. But working together doesn’t come naturally to either of them. And the truth is, they need to learn from one another in order to get better. But being thrown together slowly changes things for them. Hate turns to lust and then later love with these two. And I always a love a good enemies to lovers story. Ty has worked so hard for everything he does. He has learned that he is better on his own. That he can’t rely on anyone not to leave him. So he’ll focus and focus and never let anyone close. He wants to be the best and the only way he thinks he can do that is to not let anyone in. The opposite of Luca’s philosophy. Despite what Ty thinks, Luca doesn’t have a lot of support. His parents make it clear what they think of his choices, but at least he has his sisters. And he never loses his happy outlook. The more these two get to know one another, the more they realize that they bring out the best in one another. I adored them. I love watching them breaking down their walls and slowly let the other in. Nothing is ever easy but these two know when it is worth the fight. Can’t wait to read the next part of their story!
