Green Creek Book 2: Ravensong by TJ Klune

Green Creek Book 2

The Bennett family has a secret: They're not just a family, they're a pack. Ravensong is Gordo Livingstone's story.

Gordo Livingstone never forgot the lessons carved into his skin. Hardened by the betrayal of a pack that left him behind, he sought solace in the garage in his tiny mountain town, vowing never again to involve himself in the affairs of wolves.

It should have been enough.

It was, until the wolves came back, and with them, Mark Bennett. And when his town is caught in the jaws of a beast, Gordo is summoned back into the life that left him.

“Gordo, you must rise. For your pack. For us. I must ask you to become the witch to the wolves.”

Now, a year later, Gordo has once again found himself the witch of the Bennett pack. Green Creek has settled after the death of Richard Collins, and Gordo constantly struggles to ignore Mark and the song that howls between them.

But time is running out. Something is coming. And this time, it’s coming from within.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

This series is so good and I am only book two, knowing that there are another two books to go. But wow! I never expected to be so invested in this series, but book one drew me in and now book two even more. We are getting Gordo and Mark’s story and ugh, is it full of heartbreak. What the two of them have been through has been so much and it just gets harder. They deserve their happy ending. Though the story picks up where the last one left off, we don’t start there just yet. First we need to go back to when Gordo was a kid and revisit a few other points in time that shaped him. Especially the three years he left with a few others of the pack. From the time Gordo was a child he knew he would be the Bennett witch. He was trained, as hard and painful as it was, to be that for them. He believed in Bennett wolves. He believed in Mark. The boy two years older than him, who made him feel so much, who would his mate. But then the bad things come. And choices are made. And Gordo is left behind. By his parents, by his Alpha, and then by his mate. And it hurts. It hurts and hurts and they don’t come back despite the promises. And when Mark does, it isn’t enough. And so he pushes them and the pain away. And they stay away. Until they don’t. Until one day, they return and things change all over again. And even when things settle and a year passes from their first challenge, Richard Collins, more awaits them. And this time, it isn’t as easy to stop. And the fight is only just beginning. Loved this story. Loved getting to know Gordo more. Loved him finding his way back to Mark. I love how everyone knows that these two just need to get out of their own way (specifically Gordo) and just be together and happy. But of course it is never that easy. So much is going on in this world and on their land. And even once you get through this story, problems still need to be solved. This book was just so so good and I can’t wait for the next one!
