Arctic Titans of Northwood U Book 3 |
I earned the captaincy fair and square, but Caden Jones doesn’t see it that way. He’s challenging my authority at every turn and bringing discord to the team that’s held together with duct tape and hope.
Caden is set to ruin our chances this year just to show everyone what a terrible leader I am.
Besides, he’s been preoccupied with kissing guys all semester long. Not that I have a problem with that, exactly. But does he have to do it right under my nose?
An out-of-state game has us stranded in a hotel room. While that’s annoying as hell, the final straw is the mix up that leaves us with only one bed.
Years of rivalry and quiet resentment finally come to boiling and one of us isn’t leaving this hotel room alive. Until big words are said. And crazy actions taken. And we’re no longer fighting, even if it sort of looks like a wrestling match.
Turns out, I’ve got no problem with Caden kissing guys when I’m the guy he kisses. But… I’m straight, right?

My Review: 5/5 Stars
This was probably the favorite of the series so far! Caden and Beckett have been rivals from day one after we later learn was a bit of catching the other at a bad time. Two years later and it is time to announce the new captain of the hockey team. Everyone expects it to be Caden. He’s been preparing for the job for quite a while and has done a lot to prove himself. But everyone is shocked when Coach announces Beckett will be leading the team. Caden is floored. Beckett hasn’t exactly been the role model of a good leader the past two years and Caden can’t see how his lack of responsibility could lead him to captain other than his famous NHL uncle putting in a good word. And with that, Caden is done. He’s done being the perfect teammate and never stepping out of line and hiding part of who he is. He feels like all his hard work was for nothing and he’s tired. So with a new attitude, he stops hiding that he is bi and is gonna be the pain in the ass that Beckett has been the last two years when it comes to his attitude. Beckett is surprised too when he receives Captain but knows this is something he wants and something he can do. But Caden won’t make it easy on him on and off the ice. And off the ice, Beckett’s feelings toward Caden become a little more clear as he watches Caden go out with guy after guy. Could he be feeling… jealous? And when the team has had enough of them tearing the team apart, they tell them to work it out or leave. So they’ll pretend to get along until that one night where truths come out and all their frustration and feelings turn into something way more different than either had planned. I loved their story! These guys were definitely enemies-to-lovers and I was here for it. You could feel the tension between them at every turn and were waiting in anticipation for them to figure out what that was below the surface. And once they did? These two never stood a chance at being anything less than perfect for one another. Another great one in this series! I really am hoping for more! There were definitely a few others in there who definitely need a story.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
