Ghosts of the Shadow Market Book 7: The Land I Lost by Cassandra Clare & Sarah Rees Brennan

The Land I Lost (Ghosts of the Shadow Market, #7)
Ghosts of the Shadow Market Book 7
Alec Lightwood, partner of the High Warlock of Brooklyn and father of a warlock child, visits Buenos Aires in the aftermath of the Dark War. When he arrives, he is not welcomed by the Shadowhunters there. He believes it is because of his companion Lily, the head of the New York vampire clan, until a Shadowhunter orphan confides a dark secret to him under cover of the Shadow Market.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

My favorite from the Ghosts of the Shadow Market collection, hands down. Even though I have probably said this before, this time I definitely mean it!! (Despite knowing there is one left.) This one was seriously so, so good! We get Alec and Magnus and over course, baby Max. And we learn how Rafe comes into their lives. Which was beyond adorable. And then on top of that we get Jem and Tessa, who I of course, love. Both finally together. A cast of some of my favorite characters, how could the story be anything but good? And then it got even better!! We learn some interesting facts about the missing Herondale line and boy was it enlightening. Queen of Air and Darkness will be out soon and we learned some pretty information in this story, that I believe will impact that story. Like seriously, lot of information. AND!! If that wasn't enough for you, we even got some insight on the pass during Tessa's children's times. Oh, then of course we meet someone in the Shadow Market down in Buenos Aires, that we will meet in Alec and Magnus's books that have yet to come out. So for real, lots of little tidbits. Just way too much goodness in this one story. So much to look forward to in the books that have yet to come.

In this story Alec travels to Buenos Aires with head of the New York vampire clan, Lily, to help Jem and Tessa on their quest. But they discover that the Institute down there is involved in some bad business. We get to see the best of the characters we love. We have watched them grow from their previous stories and we see how different they have become in only the best way. Really great story. Like I said, lots of new reveals and plenty of action. A truly wonderful story from this collection.
