What If It's Us by Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera

What If It's Us

Arthur is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it’s that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it.

Ben thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn’t be on his way to the post office carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend’s things.

But when Arthur and Ben meet-cute at the post office, what exactly does the universe have in store for them?

Maybe nothing. After all, they get separated.

Maybe everything. After all, they get reunited.

But what if they can’t quite nail a first date . . . or a second first date . . . or a third?

What if Arthur tries too hard to make it work . . . and Ben doesn’t try hard enough?

What if life really isn’t like a Broadway play?

But what if it is?

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Adorkable. Like for real. The most adorable, dorky, cutest book I have ever read! And one I could not put down. I first got a hold of this book from EpicReads First Five, where I got the first 5 chapters, 1 a day. And right from that first chapter, I was hooked. I laughed and swooned at what was possibly the cutest first meet, I have ever read. Arthur and Ben are just such fun characters and getting the book from their point of views, was so great! Their both hilarious and yet so different from one another. The story starts with them meeting and having a very short conversation about them and the universe. And then when they get separated (without each other's phone number), they both set out to find the other in the maze that is New York City. I mean seriously, the city is huge! How can they find one another, when Arthur didn't even get Ben's name. Well, let's just say the universe has a plan. And after following crazy leads, they do in fact find one another again. And it is the start of a beautiful relationship...or more like stumbling through the world of awkward first dates and figuring out what to do when you finally find the one you like. Add in some personal drama and a countdown to the end of summer when Arthur leaves, and you got one hell of a story. Like I said, so adorable and I just couldn't out it down. I was laughing and cheering them on and cringing at the moments of awkward social interactions that all of us could relate to. Great, great book! So wish there were more with these characters!
