Guild Hunter Series Book 16: Archangel’s Lineage by Nalini Singh

Guild Hunter Series Book 16

New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh’s dangerous and beautiful world of archangels, vampires, and mortals has never faced a threat this cataclysmic…

Raphael and Elena are experiencing their first ever year of true peace. No war. No horrors of archangelic power. No nightmares given flesh. Until…the earth beneath the Refuge begins to tremble, endangering not only angelkind’s precious and fragile young, but the very place that has held their most innocent safe for eons.

Amid the chaos, Elena’s father suffers a violent heart attack that threatens to extinguish their last chance to heal the bonds between them and make sense of the ruins of their agonizing shared history.

Even as Elena battles grief, Raphael is torn from her side by the sudden disappearance of an archangel. But worse yet is to come. An Ancestor, an angel unlike any other, stirs from his Sleep to warn the Cadre of a darkness so terrible that it causes empires to fall and civilizations to vanish.

This time, even the Cadre itself may not be able to stop a ticking clock that is counting down at frightening speed…

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Years have passed since the last book. Elena has been by Raphael’s side for almost twenty years and this has been the most peace they have had since their battle against the Archangel of Death. But their peace is about to come to an end if they don’t solve this latest issue. The world around them is facing natural disasters left and right and it all starts with the Refuge itself facing dangerous earthquakes. Never has the Refuge faced something like this before. Not that any of them remember. The Cadre will have to work together to find a long lost solution. But they aren’t alone. Not when a supposed to be Sleeping Cassandra stirs to unleash something she hopes will save them. They are on a ticking clock as the protection around the Refuge threatens to break. And if that wasn’t enough, Elena’s father suffers a violent heart attack that threatens to end any attempt of making peace between the two of them. It’s a book of healing. I adored so much from this book! First, of course seeing so many familiar faces and catching up with their current lives. I loved the introduction of a new character and all the knowledge they share. We learn so much more about angelkind and about Ancients and Ancestors. It only gets more interesting with each book. Plus we get some new characters as well I hope we will explore! I loved seeing how far Elena and Raphael’s relationship has developed. Loved seeing some of the kids all grown up. And of course the chance of Elena and her father have to fix their relationship. Such a solid and compelling book! You don’t want to miss the latest from this series.
