Hello Goodbye Series Book 2: Hello Forever by Sarina Bowen

Hello Goodbye Book 2

When they were only teenagers, Axel and Caxton were caught making out in the woods at church camp. And afterward, Cax had disappeared from all the youth group activities.

Six years later Axel is astonished to spot his first love's face in the crowd of a college basketball game he's watching on television - at a school that has just offered him a job. It's a thousand miles away, in a tiny rural town. But suddenly he can't wait to get there.

Cax can't believe his eyes when Axel appears in the same Massachusetts town where he now lives. And he's still just as drawn to him as ever. But he can't let himself go there again, because loving Axel will mean giving up everything else he holds dear.

Both men have so much to lose. But as far as their love is concerned, it's Hello Forever.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

I finished Goodbye Paradise and immediately picked up Hello Forever and finished it within the day. So good! This time the story follows Axel and Caxton, who find their way back to one another after years apart. When they were teenagers, they shared their first kiss but was caught by one of the adults leading church camp. While Axel wasn't in trouble with his mom, Caxton wasn't so lucky. It was the last time Axel saw Caxton. That is until he spots him in the stands of a college basketball game where he was just offered a job. Axel feels like maybe it was meant to be. He knows time has passed but seeing his first love... well it could be worth the move. So he takes the job. And in connecting to the first book, Axel ends up living in an apartment above the garage of Joshua and Caleb. Meanwhile, Caxton is shocked when he comes across Axel and when they speak for the first time in years, he realizes he owes him a big explanation. In short, Caxton's father is a horrible man who won't condone a gay son. And he has hurt Caxton plenty of times in the past and threatens Caxton's younger brothers if he doesn't stay in line. Caxton is so fearful of leaving his brothers with a monster that he has kept his true self hidden for so long. But when he sees Axel he can't help but the feelings that come rushing back. Life is complicated to say the least and it will take a lot until Caxton and Axel get their happily ever after. Loved this story! Caxton and Axel were such great characters and I loved getting Joshua and Caleb again. We also got some pretty fun new characters as well! I'm sad this was the last one for this little series. I definitely would have loved to have had more stories in their corner of the world!
