The Elder Races Book 5: Lord's Fall by Thea Harrison

Lord's Fall (Elder Races, #5)
Elder Races Book 5

In the latest Novel of the Elder Races, two mates find themselves on different paths, torn between their duty to the Wyr and the passion that binds them…

Before she met Dragos, half-human/half-Wyr Pia Giovanni was alone and on the run. Now she’s mated, pregnant and heading south to repair the Wyrs’ frayed relationship with the Elves. Being separated from Dragos is painful, but for the good of the Wyr demesne they need to figure out how to be partners—in more places than just the bedroom.

In New York to preside over the Sentinel Games, Dragos is worried about his mate, but knows that finding two replacement sentinels is essential to show the rest of the Elder Races just how strong and brutal the Wyr demesne can be. But as the Games heat up, Pia’s negotiations with the Elves take a turn for the dangerous, straining her bond with Dragos and threatening everything they hold dear…

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Back to Pia and Dragos and it is great to see how our original couple are doing. It’s nice to see an author bring back the ones who started it all and in doing so she brings in a new challenge, enemy, and (due to the ending) a new arc of issues. Pia remains to be a strong female character and stands tall against her mate and husband Dragos (all while being pregnant, I may add, with the little Peanut). In this story, we get to see how their relationship develops and how they learn to work together and apart. Never a dull moment for each of them, we are brought into the territory of the Elves and learn the inter-workings of the Wyr demesne. Plus, we get to see how the Oracle’s prophecy from Oracle’s Moon will be fulfilled. Action-packed. New characters. And the highly anticipated birth of Peanut! Harrison is still going strong.
