You meet “Tricks” aka Niniane and Tiago in the first book of the series, Dragon Bound, and you can’t help but wonder if there was something going on between the two. There’s definitely a spark. Well in Storm’s Heart that question is answered. Niniane finds herself thrown into a world she thought she left behind. Now she makes her journey back to the throne of the Dark Fae, all while falling in love with Wyr sentinel Tiago. They shouldn’t be together, yet “should” is never good enough reason for a Wyr known as the god of storms.
Harrison does an excellent job of portraying the inner struggles of someone whose life is uprooted, leaving behind the only home she felt was safe, and portraying someone who knows that when it comes to the struggle between duty and heart, your heart is something you must follow no matter what.
There is never a dull moment either. Right from the beginning there are assassination attempts and action. New characters are introduced and hints of futures problems and enemies are revealed.
