The Elder Races Book 1: Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison

Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1)
Elder Races Book 1

Half-human and half-Wyr, Pia Giovanni spent her life keeping a low profile among the Wyrkind and avoiding the continuing conflict between them and their Dark Fae enemies. But after being blackmailed into stealing a coin from the hoard of a dragon, Pia finds herself targeted by one of the most powerful—and passionate—of the Elder Races.

As the most feared and respected of the Wyrkind, Dragos Cuelebre cannot believe someone had the audacity to steal from him, much less succeed. And when he catches the thief, Dragos spares her life, claiming her as his own to further explore the desire they've ignited in each other.

Pia knows she must repay Dragos for her trespass, but refuses to become his slave—although she cannot deny wanting him, body and soul.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

A crazy start to what i hope to be a really great series! The world Thea Harrison creates is truly unique. She mixes different creatures of mythology an is able to fit them in a society where it just works. Pia and Dragos’s story has a dominant very male, very predatorily and possessive Wyr-dragon who is challenged by a woman who’s Wyr form is so rare and gentle, it’s a wonder how a relationship can possible form between them.

Pia is a lovable character whose personality is relatable to so many people. She has no filter when it comes to speaking her thoughts and despite Dragos’s scary demeanor, she can’t help but talk back and be attracted to him. Dragos has been around since the beginning of time and for the first time in centuries is intrigued.

Their journey together takes them through Other Lands and finding something in themselves and in one another. It’s action-packed and holds your attention all the way through. Monsters, mythology, love, the creativity is endless. I expect the rest of the series to open up this world further and explore endless possibilities of story telling.
