Serpent & Dove Series Book 3: Gods & Monsters by Shelby Mahurin

Gods & Monsters (Serpent & Dove, #3)
Serpent & Dove Book 3

The spellbinding conclusion to the New York Times and IndieBound bestselling trilogy Serpent & Dove. This stunning fantasy take on French witches and forbidden love is perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas.

Evil always seeks a foothold. We must not give it one.

After a heartbreaking loss, Lou, Reid, Beau, and Coco are bent on vengeance more than ever before—and none more so than Lou.

But this is no longer the Lou they thought they knew. No longer the Lou that captured a chasseur’s heart. A darkness has settled over her, and this time it will take more than love to drive it out.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

A stunning and beautiful conclusion to this amazing series. Seriously. After the previous book, I was super nervous about this final book. The last book ended with some things I wish didn't happen and I had no idea how this story was going to go. It was truly a rollercoaster of emotions all throughout. A constant up and down feeling. I kept wondering okay when are they going to figure this out and how long will it last. Then when something was resolved another disastrous thing happened. You never get to catch a break or your breath. But!! After all is said and done, it was worth it. Truly. I couldn't have asked for a better resolution and epilogue. This one had to be my favorite of the series despite the rollercoaster I was on...okay, maybe the first one is tied.

This book picks up shortly where the last one left off. And to avoid spoilers, I won't say anything too specific. Basically, Lou isn't quite herself and the gang, while they are grieving, know they need a new plan. They continue to fight and gain unexpected allies from different places. And just when things are figured out, a whole new problem occurs. And that's just a few threads of the bigger picture! They still need to defeat Lou's mother and time is running out. I truly can't say much without spoiling and this is one book you don't want spoiled for you. No matter how tempted. Know, it all works out in unexpected ways and in ways that I think if you were a fan of this series from book one, you will be happy with the ending. This book also contained so many revelations, twists and turns, adventure, and so much more. Fall in love with Lou and Reid and their love story all over again. See characters in a new light as they join the fight. Seriously, great story. And that epilogue...sighhhhhh, just so good and satisfying. I'm so sad this series is over, but it is truly one of my favorite series and I cannot wait for what this author will come out with next!
