Vino & Veritas Book 6 |
Two guys meet over a stack of romance novels. Soon they're turning pages late into the night...
Jamie Morin’s college GPA drops every time a cow breaks through a fence, but he’s determined to get his degree and keep his parents’ Vermont dairy farm afloat. He’d rather be reading than milking, but he can’t let his family down…not the way his brother did. So the last thing he needs is distraction in the form of an irresistible bookseller with a mysterious backstory.
Briar Nord has a lifetime of experience proving that happily-ever-afters only happen in his favorite books. But his luck might be changing. He’s got a great job at a bookstore, and he lives in a city that puts maple syrup on everything. But Briar knows not to trust anything or anyone. And that includes a gorgeous farm boy with soulful eyes and too many obligations.
When Jamie joins Briar’s romance novel book club, they both feel an instant connection. Soon they’re turning pages long into the night. But Briar’s past was bound to catch up with him. Sometimes, though, it takes two heroes to write a new ending . . .

My Review: 5/5 Stars
I've been loving the Vino & Veritas series and Jamie and Briar's story is definitely another great one. And a favorite of mine. Jamie's life is busy. He is at Moo U studying his butt off, his has a part time job at one of the libraries on campus that he loves, and he works on his family's farm and dropping anything he is doing if his family calls him for help. Oh, and he just joined the new romance book club at Vino and Veritas. Because he figures he might as well add something else he truly loves to his crazy schedule. And it's a good thing for him because when he goes to the first meeting he meets Briar. And he definitely like what he sees. A guy straight out of his favorite romance novel, who not only looks like his favorite hero but has an equal love to books as well. Their connection and chemistry is instant. But Briar has secrets. Like his past that he can't seem to get far away from and that his trust and faith in people is pretty low. But Briar loves his second chance and working at Vino & Veritas. He wants a place to belong. And when he looks at Jamie, he wonders if he finally found the place. Jamie and Briar aren't looking for a relationship, they both know with their schedules and secrets there is just no chance. But the more time they spend together, the more they wonder if they could have something real. I loved their story. Both of them go through these intense challenges. Of Jamie trying to fight for what he wants for once and not what is always expected of him. And Briar trying to open up and find someone to confide and trust in. Plus, realizing that he may have found people who actually care about him. They are such great individual characters and even better together. Great, great story!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
