Gabe wants Alec between the sheets…too bad Alec’s undercover already…

Rich kid. Party boy. Gabe is tired of the labels. He’s a smart guy, but ever since he got kicked out of grad school, people are only interested in his no-limit credit card and his pierced ears…and other places.

Tall, dark, and scowling Alec hates Vermont, with its artisanal-freaking-everything and its irritating people. To be fair, most people irritate Alec, including the FBI director who sent him here to investigate a smuggling scheme involving yoga mats.

When one of the cutest twinks Alec’s ever seen takes an interest, Alec knows there’s an ulterior motive. No one with multi-colored hair, piercings, and an ass like that would want boring, serious Alec. The kid must be up to no good. Either way, Alec can’t blow his cover. If only he could keep his hands off of Gabe long enough to find out what he’s up to…

Can they ignore their explosive chemistry long enough to foil a smuggling ring? Or will their budding relationship sink faster than a yacht full of contraband?

Cover Design: Christine Coffey

Brent Weyland was the life of the party until an injury ended his hockey career. Now he’s retreated alone to a lakefront house, trying to make sense of a life and body that don’t feel like his anymore.

Jon Norquist was happily married right up until he wasn’t. Now a single father in his forties, he’s trying to figure out what comes next. In the meantime, he pours his heartache and regret into the lyrics he sings for the wine bar crowd a couple of nights a week.

When a friend coaxes Brent out for a night of wine and music, he puts Brent and Jon on a collision course. Their chemistry is instantaneous. Jon gives Brent’s battered body a much-needed remedial lesson in pleasure. And Brent gives Jon a reason to smile again.

Multiple reasons, actually. Neither man wants anything serious, but love has a habit of showing up whether it’s welcome or not. No matter how hard they try, the two can’t help having feelings for each other, even as life continues to throw them curveballs.

But they’ve both got baggage to unpack and hurt to move past, and if they can’t leave their pasts in the past, they might just miss out on an amazing future.

Fable Series Book 2: Namesake by Adrienne Young

Namesake (Fable, #2)
Fable Book 2

Trader. Fighter. Survivor.

With the Marigold ship free of her father, Fable and its crew were set to start over. That freedom is short-lived when she becomes a pawn in a notorious thug’s scheme. In order to get to her intended destination she must help him to secure a partnership with Holland, a powerful gem trader who is more than she seems.

As Fable descends deeper into a world of betrayal and deception she learns that her mother was keeping secrets, and those secrets are now putting the people Fable cares about in danger. If Fable is going to save them then she must risk everything, including the boy she loves and the home she has finally found.

Filled with action, emotion, and lyrical writing, New York Times bestselling author Adrienne Young returns with Namesake, the final book in the captivating Fable duology.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

I loved Fable and Namesake was definitely a fantastic sequel! Namesake picks up where the last one left off. Fable was taken by Zola and his crew in order to help him free him from his debt from Holland, a powerful gem trader. All Fable wants to do is find her way back to West and the rest of the crew from the Marigold. But she'll have to survive this first. And when she finally meets the famous Holland, it is more than she could have ever been prepared for. And after being reunited with West, they find themselves trapped in a very dangerous game. This story really gives insight to Isolde, Fable's mother. We learn about her origins and how her running away and making a life with Saint changed everything. Fable and West face a lot of challenges, neither are ready to lose the other but in trying to protect one other and their crew, they may be doing more harm than good. She has to learn to play the game of deception. A lot that goes on are spoilers so I don't want to give anything away, but this book had a lot of great surprises that kept me turning page after page, wanting to know more. I loved the direction this book went and I was satisfied with the ending. Definitely a great sequel to Fable

TURNABOUT BY LAUREL GREER

About the Book:

I don’t have time for an unplanned visit home to help out in my father’s struggling letterpress shop. My stint in Vermont will have to be short, for a couple of reasons:

One, I’m a busy executive trying to climb the corporate ladder.

Two, my ex is still my dad’s right-hand man in the shop. And I am not over him.

Nothing has changed at the Burlington shop. Auden still has his infuriatingly sexy Scottish accent. He’s still hot, and still stubborn. Between operating the antique press with his shirtsleeves rolled up, and moonlighting at Burlington’s hottest inclusive wine bar, he pushes every one of my attraction buttons.

My falling-in-love-again buttons, too. Except I’m his polar opposite. I love change, and taking chances. Everything he avoids in life.

So why am I trying to convince him to reach for more than we’ve ever dreamed of—the possibility of forever?

Turnabout is a second-chance romance with interfering family, groveling, and a large helping of artisan stationery geekery.

UNGUARDED BY JAY HOGAN

About the Book:

I fled Boston and my cheating jerk of an ex with three hundred dollars and a lip gloss in my pocket. Waking up the next day in Burlington, Vermont, with a crick in my back and a frozen ass wasn’t exactly in the plan. If there was one. Which there wasn’t. Story of my life.

Three hours later and I’ve been hired as temporary help in the local veterinary and grooming clinic, which is kind of impressive since I know zip about animals and even less about grooming. But one thing I do know—I’m crushing hard on the sexy, absent-minded vet I work for.

My life is a hot mess. The last thing I need is another relationship. Emmett pushes all my buttons, but he isn’t out. He's overwhelmed with a business to run and a son to look after and the kind of domestic life I never thought I wanted.

I should walk away.

But Emmett believes in me, and I might just be starting to believe in myself. As different as we are, is it possible we're exactly what the other needs?

About the Book:

It was just a bet . . . until feelings got involved.

This job sucks but someone’s got to do it. My readers expect me to chronicle my very real, very steamy encounters in my novels. I’d never want to disappoint my fans, but the creative well has run a bit dry. Burlington, Vermont, seems like a good place to fill it up. This town offers a tempting array of artists, craftsmen, farmers, lumbersexuals . . . and so many beards.

But no one prepared me for Brody. He’s young. He’s hot. He’s definitely a grump. And he's getting under my skin. Where I want him is under my bedsheets.

When my friend bets I’ll never be able to get Brody there, I make winning my mission. Turns out being with Brody is more than a plot device. He’s so very wrong for my life . . .  but is he right for my heart?

Insatiable is a standalone book in the Vino & Veritas series by Heart Eyes Press and contains a big/small, grumpy/sunshine pairing, a bed-hopping author, a jilted sugarmaker and a reluctant fake relationship.

Vino & Veritas Book 12

DAYBREAK BY KATE HAWTHORNE

Add to Goodreads → https://bit.ly/38YImHR

About the Book:

When a sunny young musician gets stranded with a grumpy mechanic during a snowstorm, a lack of heat is the least of their problems…

Liam Luckett is on an adventure. He's dropped out of his Master's program without telling his overbearing parents and set off on a road trip across the country. Armed with little more than his guitar, he’s looking for his best life. He never expected his car to break down in the middle of nowhere Vermont with a huge storm pending, leaving him stranded and at the mercy of a hunky local mechanic.

Jasper Cunningham is in a holding pattern. Three years after the death of his husband, he still hasn’t moved on. A hot, younger, stranded tourist is exactly the sort of complication this mechanic has been avoiding. But he also can’t leave him in the snow. He brings Liam home and lets him sleep on the couch. The air is heavy with more than snow, and when the power goes out, the two men become closer than either of them expects.

Every silken note Liam sings on that guitar thaws Jasper’s heart a little.  Suddenly, Liam’s itchy feet aren’t so eager to move on. When their feelings get too big to ignore, the bond they’ve formed is tested. Will daybreak leave them going their separate ways?

This opposites-attract, hurt/comfort romance features a grumpy widower who is only soft for one specific blue-eyed musician, a remote farmhouse, a friendly dog, and enough snow to knock the power out until love catches fire.

HEARTSONG BY A.E. WASP

Add to Goodreads → https://bit.ly/3bRqTTq

About the Book:

The best music comes from the heart.

Sean Anderson has spent his life waiting to get the hell out of West Virginia. His plans got derailed when his dad shipped him off to “pray the gay away,” but he’s over it, ready to prove that he’s a grown-ass man who can take care of himself. Of course, he’d have a better chance convincing himself if he could stop lusting after his grumpy roommate.

Army veteran Cooper Hill returned to Vermont minus one leg and one career, but determined to build a new life. When an army buddy asks Cooper to keep an eye on his nephew, a junior at the local college, Cooper can’t say no. He’s expecting a sheltered kid. What he gets is a gorgeous young man whose brilliant poetry gives voice to everything Cooper’s been trying to express. He wants Sean more than he’s ever wanted anything. And somehow, miraculously, Sean wants him too.

But wanting each other isn’t the same as being good for each other . . . especially when past pain threatens to write its own verse in their song.

A stand-alone novel in Sarina Bowen’s True North world, HEARTSONG contains first love, found family, kisses around the campfire, and two caring men who discover they make beautiful music together.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

It's been a while since I've been back in this world, and with Anna and Charles specifically. Annd and Charles new adventure leads them to California, where the people of a town, that settled illegally in their lands, have disappeared. One of the most interesting parts of this story is that these lands were where Bran first found Leah and ended up taking her as a mate. We get to see a very brief glimpse of how Leah and Bran ended up together and how Leah was Changed. On these lands something evil rests. Something that Leah had hoped died long ago, but really was asleep until witches woke it up. Now it is up to Anna, Charles, and Tag to discover what exactly rests in the land and what happened to the people. I really enjoyed this story. Music was a key theme to it and it very much reminded me of the Pied Piper who led people to their deaths through music. Though this is no Pied Piper. Really great story that had me turning page after page for more. I loved Charles and Anna in this story as well because they have come so far from the first book where they met and mated. Their relationship has only gotten stronger and it is nice to see them more at peace in their lives and with one another. They are definitely favorite characters of mine in this world. And of course these books always end with some sort of cliffhanger that changes everything for books of the future. And this one had to be the craziest yet. Now, I really need the next book!

Brooklyn Bruisers Book 8: Bombshells by Sarina Bowen

Brooklyn Bruisers Book 8

The women's league is in the house! And Brooklyn will never be the same again for Anton Bayer and the team…

This is my last chance to ditch my playboy reputation and finally fulfill my potential. So I’ve made three rules for our biggest season yet: no boozing, no women, and no scandals.

Especially that last thing.

So who do I befriend on the very first day back at the rink? An amazing female hockey player. I want Sylvie in a way that’s more than just friendly. I crave her. But I have a championship to win, and so does she.

Then she gets her heart broken by my teammate, and I make the foolish mistake of comforting her in the best way I know how. Our night together sets off a string of sins.

Nobody can know about our affair, especially my overprotective teammate. I can’t let anyone see into my greedy little heart. Not even her.

The things I want from her, and the things we’ve already done? If anyone knew, there’d be bombshells.

Contains: a defenseman with dreamy blue eyes, a female goalie with bad ideas, a major battle of the sexes and a swimming pool scene...

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Baby Bayer! It's Anton's turn and since it has been a while since I read the last Brooklyn Bruisers book, it was a delightful reminder of why I love this series so much. The humor, the characters, the romance, and of course hockey! So good! I picked up the book and didn't put it back down until I was done. I couldn't get enough. So this story follows Anton and Sylvie. Anton is on his third season and he knows he needs to step it up. No matter messing around or getting bad publicity. It's all about the focus and being the best player he can be. And though he follows his rules and gets his act together before the season starts, things come to a screeching halt when he meets Sylvie. Because he may have gotten rid of the other distractions but Sylvie is nothing like he expected. She is his biggest surprise and may change everything. Sylvie is one of the goalies recruited for the new women's hockey team, the Brooklyn Bombshells. Taking the chance to live an adventure, she ventures from Ontario to Brooklyn for a an opportunity of a lifetime. And it just so happens, the guy she has loved all her life is on the Brooklyn team. (And no, that's not Anton.) She wonders if it is fate and something can finally happen between them. As she tries to figure out what she wants, she finds a friend in Anton. This gorgeous hockey player on the Bruisers team and a guy who becomes a great friend to her. Though she can't help but wonder about the chemistry between them. And when the guy she thought she loves constantly rejects her because he wants to focus on the game, she finally realizes perhaps it was never meant to be and she is ready to move. The chemistry between Anton and Sylvie is fantastic. Their friendship is so real and genuine it makes everything so much sweeter between the two of them when they take their friendship to a new level. Loved, loved their story. So fun and hilarious and you can't help but turn the pages to see how the two of them will realize they are perfect for one anther. And we were introduced to some great new players on the Bruisers as well as the women from the Bombshells. There are several books I need to see after meeting these new characters. Great book! And I can't wait for more!

HEARTSCAPE BY GARRETT LEIGH

Cover Design: Christine Coffey

Blurb:

From award-winning author Garrett Leigh comes a gorgeous new romance in the True North world! Think: great food, burly men and good times. Beards are optional but encouraged.

I’m not the obvious choice to run Burlington’s coolest wine bar—quiet, brooding, clueless about tannin content, and always one wrong turn away from another downward spiral.

But no one seems to mind that I'm a wreck. Besides me. I just focus on getting through each shift until the night a beautiful stranger appears, looking as lost and damaged as I feel.

When a mutual friend calls in a favor, the sexy newcomer winds up crashing on my couch. I don't know if it's his melodic Cornish accent, or his ocean blue eyes, or the rock-hard body with the mysterious scars, but I get the feeling whatever happened to him runs far deeper than those wounds.

Having Jax in my home makes my chest warm. Makes me shiver. Makes me want more. But I've got a pile of baggage and I don't want to be a burden on anyone let alone a man who seems to have enough demons of his own.

Our chemistry is off the charts. His arms feel like home. The last thing I want is to screw this up. Is it wrong to hope we can heal each other? Or will one of us die trying?

HEARTSCAPE is a heartfelt MM friends-to-lovers romance in the True North world, with a brooding bartender, a rugged outdoorsman, sweet angst and lots of Shipley cider. Triggers: contains mentions of depression, suicidal ideation and PTSD recovery.

FEATHERBED BY ANNABETH ALBERT

Add to Goodreads here: https://bit.ly/3mKWKXJ
Cover Design: Christine Coffey

Blurb:

When a bookworm on borrowed time meets a younger, free-spirited chicken farmer, sparks and feathers fly…
Harrison Phillip Fletcher, III isn’t supposed to be here. Not in Burlington, Vermont, not running Vino & Veritas, a quaint inclusive bookstore and wine bar, and definitely not still alive, at forty-two. Also not supposed to be here? An unexpected delivery of chickens.

Finn Barnes knows chickens. The burly organic farmer knows all about rare breed poultry, but dealing with a hot, older bookseller is an entirely different matter. City slicker types like Harrison never end up staying in Vermont for the long-term.

They should steer clear of each other. But the flare of attraction is mutual. And somehow amid book discussions and farm tours, they discover plenty in common. Now they’re stealing kisses in Finn’s barn, sneaking out like teens, and burning up the sheets.

What starts as a fling brings very real feelings for two lonely souls, but a future together seems as unlikely as chickens in a bookstore. Feathers may be flying, but learning to trust takes time neither may have. Can they take a leap of faith together before it’s too late?

Featherbed is a stand-alone novel in Sarina Bowen’s World of True North. This opposites-attract, age-gap romance features a low-angst, fluffy—and feathery—romp as a fish out of water discovers the home he never thought he’d find.

My Review: 4/5 Stars

When Phoebe loses her job and her girlfriend she decides to head to Vermont to hide out for a bit. She figures she can help her dad out by renovating her late grandmother's cabin so he can turn it into a rental and it will be a huge distraction from everything blowing up in her life. What she doesn't expect to find is Taylor. Her first love and the one she ran from when they were teenagers. It's been a long time since they were teens but seeing Taylor brings back all kinds of feelings. Meanwhile, Taylor can't forget the love and heartbreak she felt for Phoebe. And to have her back in her life is something she isn't sure she can handle. But when Taylor needs a favor from Phoebe that involves Phoebe taking in a pregnant foster dog, she finds herself being reminded of why she fell for Phoebe the first time. It isn't long before they realize that maybe they deserve a second chance to be together. But Taylor has to protect her heart. She can't fall for Phoebe again if she is just going to leave. Or will things be different this time? Phoebe and Taylor's story is about second chances at love and lots of adorable puppies! Another great addition to the Vino & Veritas series.

My Review: 4/5 Stars

Chelsea has sworn off men. She is tired of the meaningless hook ups and tired of not finding "the one." She wants a change. Her vow starts off as swearing off dating men for a year and focusing on herself. Should be easy right? Too bad things change when she meets Tara. Spending more and more time with Tara makes Chelsea wonder if maybe she should take advantage of the loophole in her vow. She swore off men...but not women. Maybe dating a woman would change everything. But Chelsea knows that Tara is the only woman she wants to date. Tara changes everything for Chelsea. Meanwhile, Tara is the biggest flirt there is. She moved to Vermont for a fresh start and promised herself she wouldn't hide who she was. But just because she likes to flirt, doesn't mean she is looking for a random hook up. If she is going to go down the path of a relationship and open herself up to an emotional attachment then she wants something real. And when she really starts to get to know Chelsea, she wonders if perhaps she can take that emotional risk. As a foster kid, she learned to keep her emotions in check and don't form attachments. Her closest friends are her family and letting someone in is the hardest things she could ever do. Chelsea and Tara were such a fun pair. They were so different. Yet, together they ended up bringing the best out of one another. When Chelsea acted immature, Tara called her out and brought her back to reality. When Tara wanted to shut down, Chelsea gave her a reason to open up and trust. Another great addition to this awesome series!

My Review: 5/5 Stars

I've been loving the Vino & Veritas series and Jamie and Briar's story is definitely another great one. And a favorite of mine. Jamie's life is busy. He is at Moo U studying his butt off, his has a part time job at one of the libraries on campus that he loves, and he works on his family's farm and dropping anything he is doing if his family calls him for help. Oh, and he just joined the new romance book club at Vino and Veritas. Because he figures he might as well add something else he truly loves to his crazy schedule. And it's a good thing for him because when he goes to the first meeting he meets Briar. And he definitely like what he sees. A guy straight out of his favorite romance novel, who not only looks like his favorite hero but has an equal love to books as well. Their connection and chemistry is instant. But Briar has secrets. Like his past that he can't seem to get far away from and that his trust and faith in people is pretty low. But Briar loves his second chance and working at Vino & Veritas. He wants a place to belong. And when he looks at Jamie, he wonders if he finally found the place. Jamie and Briar aren't looking for a relationship, they both know with their schedules and secrets there is just no chance. But the more time they spend together, the more they wonder if they could have something real. I loved their story. Both of them go through these intense challenges. Of Jamie trying to fight for what he wants for once and not what is always expected of him. And Briar trying to open up and find someone to confide and trust in. Plus, realizing that he may have found people who actually care about him. They are such great individual characters and even better together. Great, great story!
