Incredible. Amazing. And just about a million other words. JLA has done it again. This time she took us somewhere new. A high fantasy novel that fits in perfectly with her other books but is so much more than that. Welcome to a world of gods and myths of all kinds. Wrapping some of my favorite lores into one. Then there is the romance between Poppy and Hawke. Just wow. There is just so much to this story. So many elements mixed together. So many parts of the story you don't realize exist until they smack you in the face. I could not put this book down. Poppy is the badass heroine we always look for in JLA's books and Hawke is the hot bad boy that we look for too. And for those who have read her other books and heard her say he is like Aiden, Roth, and Hunter wrapped into one...I get it. He for real is. This book was so much fun to read and was one I could not put down. I wanted to see how Poppy would fight her fate. If that was something she even wanted and if she would have the courage to do. I wanted to see the star-crossed love between her and Hawke. Knowing that they could not be together because of her destiny. But this is no simple story that is black and white. So many twists and turns and revelations that I did not see coming until it was too late. And even then, I wanted to see it all. It's so hard to put the right words into this book. But it is worth the read. Avoid spoilers. It's not worth it to ruin such a brilliant story. One that let me tell you is definitely not over in one book. I need more. Like ASAP. It has adventure, magic, epic romance (seriously I can't get over the chemistry between Hawke and Poppy and who have no doubt become favorite characters of mine), danger, magical creatures, fantasy, gods and so much more. It has it all. Interesting characters and a mythology created by JLA that mixes so many of ones you know but with her own unique twists on every single one. I loved this book. And again, I cannot wait to read more!
