My Review: 4/5 Stars

Book 2 of the Asylums for Magical Threats and I must say I am liking this series quite a lot. This story focuses on Camilla and Marco, who are sent to find one of the Four Talents. In the previous book we learn Kiarra is a Talent, which means there are three left that DEFEND needs to find and protect. The relationship between Camilla and Marco starts off rocky. And I will admit it took me a while to warm up to Cam. She is this tough bad ass woman soldier and leader and though I understood her motivation and her instincts to prove that just because she is a woman doesn't mean she can't lead, for me, she was a bit over the top. However, Marco was the best character to take her down a bit and make her realize that he does in fact respect her and has no problem with her being in charge, as long as she is at least willing to listen to what he has to say. Because his information and skills are helpful. And he is more than the mask that he wears around others. You learn a lot about their pasts and how it has defined who they are at this moment. Their mission has adventure and dangers and all the while they strive to complete it we get to them break down their walls and open up for the first time. The story also continues two other story lines from the first book that deals with Millie and Gio. Each are in their own situation and I curious to see if they will cross paths once more. Definitely a great series and if you liked the first one you should keep reading!
