Synopsis

Zander

The last thing I expect when I meet the new guy at work is for my life to be thrown into chaos. I’ve spent years hiding my attraction to men, but Luka is funny, outgoing, and for reasons I can’t explain, he sees past my introverted nature and wants to be friends.

I’ve never felt a connection with anyone like I do with Luka. He makes me want to open up and share the parts of myself I usually keep hidden. I don’t want to make things awkward between us, but the more I try to get over my feelings, the harder it is to stay away.

Just when I think my life can’t get any more complicated, I start chatting with a guy on an anonymous kink app. Sinbin might be a stranger, but he’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a man. But then again, so is Luka.

How did I go from never having guy trouble to wanting two men I can’t have?

Luka

Being the new guy at work isn’t easy. Neither is having a crush on one of my coworkers. Zander is quiet and shy, and doesn’t have the best social skills, but he’s also sweet and caring and one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met.

I’ve never known anyone like Zander, and the more time we spend together, the harder it is to only see him as a friend. I want him, but he’s straight. And to the outside world, so am I.

In a desperate attempt to get over my crush, I log into an anonymous kink app and start chatting with a man who doesn’t just rock my world but understands me in ways no one else ever has. I might not know what MrNiceGuy looks like, but he feels familiar, like we’ve known each other forever. But then again, so does Zander.

How can I be drawn to two men at the same time? And more importantly: how do I choose between them?

About the Author

What can I say about myself? It’s kind of like being the new kid in school and being asked to tell everyone a bit about yourself. Anyone else forget everything they’ve ever liked, thought of, and even their name in those moments?

A few facts about me; I’m a veteran, I’m Canadian, and I love books! I’ve been writing my own stories since I was eight and wrote my first novel at sixteen. I’m the first to admit those attempts weren’t my best work, but they started me on a journey of creating stories that has led me to fulfilling my dream of becoming an author. I’ve written and published in several genres under different names, but MM is by far my favorite, and I’m so happy to be able to share my stories with people today.

I currently live on Canada’s east coast with my kiddo and my cats. I have a shoe collecting addiction, and I enjoy taking long walks, discussions with friends, and reading anything and everything I can get my hands on.

Rules of the Game Book 2: Bending the Rules by Brigham Vaughn

Rules of the Game Book 2

Rule #1: Rules are made to … bend

Noah Boucher loves his career as a hot-shot NHL goaltender—even after making league history as the first openly bi player. Last season’s catastrophic knee injury sidelined him and ended the Toronto Fisher Cats’ chance in the playoffs but now he’s determined to have one final season to win the Cup before he retires.

Hockey has always come first, but when fate offers him a second chance with his college crush, he’s desperate to not repeat the mistakes of his past.

Rule #2: Don’t mess with fate

When a chance meeting on a scenic train trip puts Noah back into Simon Lawrence’s life, he’s wary even though their connection is as strong as ever.

Noah walked away from him once to pursue his hockey dreams and the photographer and gallery owner has been burned by long-distance relationships in the past.

A future together will require braving not only the distance and time apart, but the media scrutiny that comes with dating a pro hockey player.

Rule #3: Trust your heart

When a catastrophe at the gallery hits just as the pressure of the playoffs is heating up, Noah will have to bend the rules and convince Simon that this time, love comes first.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Noah doesn’t have many regrets. How can he when he is living his dream as a NHL player? He’s one of the best goalies in the league and despite his injury, he is sure he’ll make it make in time to finish the season and win the Cup before he finally calls it quits. He was even brave enough to be the first in the league and step out into the limelight to announce he was bisexual. But there is one thing he can’t help but as what if about. Simon. Back in college he met Simon and the chemistry between them was amazing. But their timing terrible. Their friendship was great and just when Noah was gaining the courage to ask him out, Simon dated someone else. For their next two college years, their timing would still be off. Every time one was single, the other was dating. But Noah was determined and things were changing…just in time for him to be called up to the NHL and away from them ever having a chance. But fate has finally given them a second chance. Fate puts them on the same train for a short trip. And everything falls into place. The chemistry and connection between them is still there and this time, neither are letting go. Unfortunately, Noah has to finish the season out and Simon is in the middle of opening an art gallery, but neither are willing to let go of one another. Not when they only have to be long distance for months rather than years. I adored these two and their second chance romance! The two of them thought of one another throughout the years, but their time really has come now with so many things aligning. I loved how they navigated their relationship without giving up on another. Another great story in this series and I’m looking forward to more!

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Zane and Ryan have been best friends since college. Nothing can break these two once they formed their friendship. A friendship that only became stronger over time. Now, they have been playing on the Evanston River Otters NHL team for a while and their chemistry on the ice is incredible. But things are about to change with them. And it starts when another NHL comes out as bisexual. Neither have really looked at one another beyond friends, but well, now, they are looking. And all the times their teammates teased them about being a couple is starting to sound different. Because for the first time, they are wondering if they could be that. And when they try one night to see what it would be like to cross the line and be physical, neither expect it to be everything. To feel right and perfect and like something they should have been doing all along. Falling in love with their best friend is easier than breathing but the pressure outside of their bubble? Zane can’t help but worry about it. Especially when he is the team captain. He is a thinker. And he can’t help but wonder if they come out as a couple that things could change. And what about their friendship? Could it survive if something goes wrong? Ryan jumps into things with his whole heart but the moment he realizes that he feels more for Zane than just friends, he knows he is in. But he’ll follow Zane’s lead just as he always has done. Because what they have is worth fighting for and he’ll be patient while he waits for Zane to realize it too. I adored these two! I can’t believe it’s taken me a while to circle back to this author’s hockey series. I’ve read one of her recent releases and realized I had two other series I could catch up on! I loved Zane and Ryan and I can’t wait to see other characters get their stories!

Never Will I Ever by CE Ricci

He's the one I swore I'd never ever fall for.

A teammate’s betrayal. A banishment. A secret revealed.

That’s all it took to unravel my life at the seams.

The punishment for my past mistakes goes further than expulsion,

and penance can only come from the worst hell

Summer camp.

Ten weeks spent wrangling a bunch of kids is bad enough,

only to get worse when I meet my new co-counselor.

The back-stabber himself.

Kaleb LaMothe.

Being forced to coexist adds more tension to our already shaky foundation,

but it also pushes us to uncover deeper parts of each other.

Until animosity becomes a feeling far more dangerous.

An attraction so potent, I lose sight of why I’m stuck in the wilderness to begin with.

And if I’m not careful, I might lose something else entirely.

Like my heart.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

I’ve been so excited for this book since the moment it was announced and it is finally here! First, read Don’t You Dare before this book. While you can technically read this as a standalone, you’re gonna want to get the full background on Avery and why he is where he is when the book starts. It makes his second chance and redemption store all the better. So the story starts with Avery getting expelled from college after doing something he deeply regrets. He outed his teammate and his boyfriend very publicly. He knows he messed up and he let his anger and hurt truly blind him before realizing what he did crossed a line. Now, his dad got it in his head that he can get back into school if he attends summer camp as a counselor. A summer camp that the dean’s brother runs. A stretch? Avery definitely believes so and Colin, the director, knows exactly why Avery is at his camp. But he believes in second chances and that people shouldn’t be judged for life on one mistake. So Avery will work at camp. But with the last person he expects. Kaleb. The guy who was not only his baseball teammate but the guy who turned Avery in for his actions. The beginning of camp is tension all around until they both snap. And when they do? Well some truths are revealed and the chemistry that has been sparking between them ignites. This summer will give Avery a chance to find the courage to be who he is and the person to help him may just well be Kaleb. Kaleb doesn’t want Avery at camp. Not after what he did. But even Kaleb can also see that when Avery lets his guard down, he sees the guy he met freshman year. The man he was once friends with and even attracted to. Kaleb starts to really see that there is so much more under the surface that is Avery and maybe he deserves a second chance. If he is brave enough to take it. I really loved this story! I sat down in one sitting and read it. I couldn’t put it down. I loved getting to know Avery and see exactly what he was going through to make him do what he did. That there is so much more to him and little by little he was fighting to be himself. Really, really great story all around! You don’t want to miss the emotional rollercoaster that was this story! With an ending that was well earned after everything they’ve been through.

Saints and Sinners Book 1: Lust by Devon McCormack

Saints & Sinners Book 1

LUKE

I've never been attracted to guys.

I definitely would never be attracted to a privileged, cocky bastard like Brad Henning.

Even though I've only been at St. Lawrence University for a few weeks, this prick and his friends are on a mission to mess with me-a scholarship kid who I guess they don't think belongs at a prestigious school intended for the nation's elite.

I've always been a loner, so I've dealt with my share of bullies. But unlike the bullying I encountered when I was younger, Brad and his friends have some unusual tricks up their sleeves.

They're using...

I don't even want to name it, but it's the only explanation for what's happening.

Magic.

These guys have powers, and Brad is using his to make me want him.

No-not just want him. Lust after him like I've never lusted after anyone in my life.

The way I crave him sears to my core, causes physical pain until I have the only thing that brings relief-his touch.

But when I discover that whatever he's done to me hurts him too, I realize there's more to all this than Brad and his friends trying to mess up my life.

More to it than these feral urges that are, at times, more than I think I can bear.

I have to get to the bottom of this, but until I do, there's only one way to end my agony.

I must surrender to the lust.

My Review: 4/5 Stars

Luke has always wanted to go to St. Lawrence for college. After losing both his parents within years of one another, he wanted to go the same college as his dad to feel closer to him. Sophomore year and he has finally made it with a scholarship. But things aren’t what he expected. First, there is Brad. The guy he is insanely attracted to but doesn’t get why him and his friends are so set on messing with him. Luke barely is coming to this realization that he is attracted to a guy for the first time and to one who clearly has some beef with him. But then weird things are starting to happen. And nothing is truly making sense. But it’s the only explanation…magic. Luke realizes that Brad and his friends have magic and according to them, something bad is coming. And Luke is in the center. Brad thought their plan to get Luke to leave would be simple. If Luke goes, the visions of bad things happening can’t happen. But it’s not that easy. Not when he can’t stay away with look and the chemistry and attraction between them is off the charts. Not when Luke begins to show magic of his own. There is so much they don’t know and understand about this world and powers they stumbled into but what they do know is that they can’t stand idle. They’ll have to work together to figure what is coming for them and how to stop it. I really enjoyed Luke and Brad’s story. The magic of this world was definitely beyond interesting and so different from other contemporary books with a magical and paranormal twist. I was super intrigued to see how the magic worked and all the paranormal things that came with it. Luke and Brad were also a fun couple! Loved their banter and the way their relationship changed from being more physical to more emotional. I’m definitely invested in this series and can’t wait for book two!

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Simi’s story! I honestly never imagined we would get Simi’s story. But after little bits here and there in the Nick Chronicles that hinted at her future, I was more than curious. And super happy when it was announced. The story takes us back way to the beginning when Simi was little and how she ended up with Acheron. We go through many, many years with her and her adventures. And even more interestingly, the one who ends up winning her heart. Which I will absolutely not spoil! It was so interesting to see where their friendship began and really where their love story began. And how it took them a very long time to acknowledge the love between them. And it’s someone who definitely surprised me! But I hit a point of where it started to make sense and then by the end, I was thrilled for these two. Like I said, the story covers a lot of ground and key moments that we see in the Dark Hunter series as well as the important factors from the Nick Chronicles. Makes me want to do a serious reread. But Simi has always been a beloved character. Known for her crazy appetite and even more for her love of those she claims as her friends and family. We get to watch Simi truly grow up (something Acheron isn’t exactly thrilled about), but what a great story all around! I couldn’t put it down and it was a reminder of how much I loved this world (spin-offs and all!). So much comes together here and it was very interesting to see what Simi did and to even realize that she knows quite a lot more than what everyone thinks. Great, great story! Can’t wait for the next book in this series!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Ali Hazelwood has become an author for me that can do no wrong. Her books just get better and better! I loved her latest book that follow Scarlett and Lukas. Scarlett is starting her junior year of college and has quite a lot going on. On top of a packed semester of classes for a premed student, including a new research project (with some familiar faces of other Ali Hazelwood books!) she is also a D1 athlete for diving. But has the added challenge of coming back this year after a major injury that may have healed but the mental block she has is anything but. So a relationship on top of the chaos that is her life? No way. At least, that’s what she thinks. Because somehow she finds herself in an arrangement with Lukas. The golden boy of the swim team and the a multi Olympic medalist and somehow…the perfect match for Scarlett. Their chemistry in the bedroom is off the charts, they are exactly what one another has been looking for and what they need. And out of the bedroom? They may even be better the more they learn about one another. I adored Scarlett and Lukas. Their banter and the romance that slowly built between the two was so great. And I loved that they found ways to just be themselves around one another and open up. There was so much trust built between them even when there was challenge after challenge. I just couldn’t put this story down! If you love Ali’s books already, you definitely don’t want to miss this one!
