Crescent City Book 3: House of Flame and Shadow by Sarah J. Maas

Crescent City Book 3

The stunning third book in the sexy, action-packed Crescent City series, following the global bestsellers House of Earth and Blood and House of Sky and Breath.

Bryce Quinlan never expected to see a world other than Midgard, but now that she has, all she wants is to get back. Everything she loves is in Midgard: her family, her friends, her mate. Stranded in a strange new world, she's going to need all her wits about her to get home again. And that's no easy feat when she has no idea who to trust.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

I am a fast reader but I feel like I broke some sort of record with how fast I got through this book. This book was everything. Such a satisfying ending to this series (well sorta, I am pretty sure SJM will return to this world at some point). But we are at the end of this pretty huge story arc nonetheless. And it was just amazing. My favorite of the series for sure and just when I thought the last book was incredible, this one stepped it up. If you haven’t read the previous books, don’t keep reading because spoilers for what happened in those. I won’t spoil anything for this book and trust me, you do not want to be spoiled. The last book ended in chaos and pain. Everyone separated and in their own paths. Bryce is doing what she can to survive and get back to her world. Hunt, Ruhn, and Baxion are trying to survive the dungeons of the Asteri where they are being tortured. Ithan is trying to save the wolves’ future. And Tharion is trying to live with the consequences of leaving the River Queen’s service. Everyone is a mess. But not for long. So many revelations in this story. Questions are finally answered. Truths revealed. Surprises both small and huge that maybe you could guessed or maybe you didn’t even think about. (There were so many.) Plans are being formed to stop the Asteri once and for all and it will taking everyone working together to get to that point. I really don’t want to spoil, so all I will say is you definitely don’t want to miss this last book. Brilliant. Amazing. I expected no less from Sarah J. Maas.

And a note to those who wonder about Throne of Glass series and A Court of Thorns and Roses series if you should read them before Crescent City series. Yes, when it comes to A Court of Thorns and Roses. Things make a million times more sense. And if you can squeeze in Throne of Glass, you’ll appreciate the easter eggs of that world appearing a lot more in Crescent City if you are familiar with TOG. You don’t have to though. Not like you do for ACOTAR. Enjoy friends!
