An Unearthed Novel Book 2: Undying by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner

Undying (Unearthed, #2)
Unearthed Book 2
Trapped aboard the Undying's ancient spaceship and reeling from what they've learned there, scavenger Mia and academic Jules are plunged into a desperate race to warn their home planet of the danger humanity's greed has unleashed. From the mountains of Spain to the streets of Prague, the sequel to Unearthed is a white-knuckle ride that will send readers hurtling back to earth, and leave them breathless until the last page.

The earth's fate rests in Mia and Jules's hands in the epic conclusion to New York Times best-selling authors Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner's tomb-raiding sci-fi duology.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Loved the conclusion to the Unearthed duology! Jules and Mia find themselves on the spaceship with the Undying and need a plan to get back to Earth so they can warn everyone that the Undying are here. Through some obstacles, quick thinking, and lots of luck, they find a way back to Earth. Though they realize that warning everyone of the threats coming is a lot harder than they expected. If the IA won't believe them, then who will? Who can save Earth from the Undying if no one will believe them? Their only hope is to make it to Jules's dad. For he may be the only one who knows how to stop the Undying from coming. I really loved this sequel. I love Jules and Mia and the relationship and bond they share. I love the new characters we are introduced to, Dex and Neal. The story kept me interested the entire time, trying to figure out how their story could possibly end. If you liked the first one, then you will definitely like the conclusion.

A de Vincent Novel Book 3: Moonlight Scandals by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Moonlight Scandals (de Vincent, #3)
A de Vincent Novel Book 3
It takes a fearless woman to love the most scandalous man alive inNew York Times Bestselling Author Jennifer L. Armentrout’s breathtaking novel

Even a ghost hunter like Rosie Herpin couldn’t have foreseen the fateful meeting between two mourners that has brought her so intimately close to the notorious and seductive Devlin de Vincent. Everyone in New Orleans knows he’s heir to a dark family curse that both frightens and enthralls. To the locals, Devlin is the devil. To Rosie, he’s a man who’s stoking her wildest fantasies. When a brutal attack on her friend is linked to the de Vincents, he becomes a mystery she may be risking her life to solve.

Devlin knows what he wants from this sexy and adventurous woman. But what does Rosie want from him? It’s a question that becomes more pressing—and more dangerous—when he suspects her of prying into the shadows of his past.

Now, the legends surrounding the de Vincents may not be myths at all. But if she’s to discover the truth, she must follow them straight into the arms of the man she can’t resist—the handsome devil himself.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Absolutely amazing! Wow!!! That was hands down the best book of the trilogy, I kid you not. For so many different reasons. First off, love Rosie and Dev. Never thought I would like Dev, but yeah, totally proven wrong. And Rosie is absolutely hilarious and such an awesome character. And put them together and WOW! They are imperfectly perfect together. I loved reading their story. Then, there was the whole mystery part of the story. There have been so much questions while reading this series and we finally get answers. And they are ones I did not see coming. Like at all. As I was reading I was trying so hard to figure it all out. Who killed Lawrence? What has Dev been hiding? There was just so much more going on than I originally imagined. And then it was like bam! Plot twist! BAM! Another plot twist!! My head was spinning with the revelations and trying to wrap around what had happened. Loved, loved this book from the trilogy. So sad it's over, but it is definitely a favorite of mine. If you stuck around with the series, then this one will not disappoint you!

Ryker Falls Series Book 3: Love Me Tender by Wendy Vella

Love Me Tender (Ryker Falls #3)
Ryker Falls Book 3
Finding her way home

Leaving her beloved hometown Ryker Falls was the second hardest thing Rory Haldane had ever done. Forgetting the cloud of shame her family left under, was the first.

When circumstances bring Rory back, wounded but not broken, some townsfolk don't appreciate her arrival. As threats against her begin to escalate, she finds support from an unlikely ally. Jack Trainer may epitomize the dark handsome bad-boy, but surprisingly he takes her side, and she finds herself falling for a man who has no intention of losing his heart to anyone. This is one battle Rory refuses to fight, so for her own protection, she'll once again say goodbye to Ryker Falls.

He'll fight for her to stay

Jack Trainer likes women, he just never had any intention of loving one. Life taught him to guard his heart, and when Rory Haldane walks back into town he’s ready to ignore her. The problem with that is, he also hates injustice, and the way some of the people in his town are treating her has his hackles rising. He's not exactly the stuff heroes are made of, but Rory has his protective instincts on high alert. And his libido. He wants more, way more, from her than a passionate fling, but will Rory drop her guard enough to trust him?

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Loved this story! Was so happy to be back in Ryker Falls. We are now following the story of another Trainer, Jack. And he has met his match in Rory Haldane. Rory has returned to Ryker after learning that her grandmother had died months earlier and she is not welcomed. For something her father was blamed for when she was a kid, her family was run out of town. The moment he steps into town, she is verbally attacked by all, including the Trainers themselves. Until they realize that years have gone by and it wasn't Rory or her brothers' fault for their father's actions. Jack ends up taking Rory's side and though they argue and annoy one another in every was possible, the chemistry between them is clear. The two, however, are quite alike. Why fall for someone when they can just hurt you? Together, they learn to take a chance. And on top of their budding romance, Rory is getting more than just verbal abuse from the town. Slashing of tires and rocks thrown her window, someone really does not want Rory back in town. Really great story! Just another wonderful addition to this series. And I cannot wait to find out who's story we are getting next!

Now Available! Only a Breath Apart by Katie McGarry

Only a Breath Apart

Bestselling author Katie McGarry’s trademark wrong-side-of-the-tracks romance is given a new twist in the gritty YA contemporary novel, Only a Breath Apart.

Jesse Lachlin is cursed.

So the town folklore says, but while Jesse’s had his fair share of tragedy, the only curse he believes is in his grandmother’s will: in order to inherit his family farm he must win the approval of his childhood best friend, the girl he froze out his freshman year, Scarlett Copeland.

Scarlett Copeland is psychic.

Glory Gardner tells Scarlett she has hidden psychic abilities, but Scarlett thinks Glory is delusional. What is real is Scarlett’s father’s irrational fears, controlling attitude, and the dark secrets at home. Scarlett may have a way to escape, but there’s a hitch: she’ll have to rely on the one person she used to trust, the same boy who broke her heart, Jesse Lachlin.

Each midnight meeting pushes Jesse and Scarlett to confront their secrets and their feelings for each other. But as love blooms, the curse rears its ugly head…

My Review: 5/5 Stars

I love Katie McGarry's writing. There has not been a time where I have read a book of hers and not liked it. Only a Breath Apart has become one of my absolute favorites by her. I finished it in one day because I lacked the strength and heart to put it down. Her characters are emotional, complex, relatable, and so many other things. You can't help but fall in love with her characters. You feel everything they feel, you cheer for them and you cry with them. Scarlett and Jesse are no exceptions. Their story was beautiful and heartbreaking. Both of them know pain, physical and emotional. They have their secrets and live with them and the guilt that sometimes breaks them. But, there is only hope. Scarlett and Jesse were best friends as children, until their freshmen year in high school, Jesse shuts her out. This breaks both their hearts. Jesse has his reasons, believing that the curse on his family and him, will one day hurt the one person he was born to love. Their senior year brings them back together.

Jesse is desperate to save the land his family has owned because to him it is home and he loves it more than anything. Scarlett is living with a father who abuses her mother. She struggles with her fear for her mother and sister and the anger she has toward her father for doing this to them. But she feels that she cannot tell anyone. That no one will believe her and help, especially when her mother tells her she will deny that anything is wrong. Her father is a control freak who's obsessed with tracking Scarlett''s every move. To save his land, Jesse needs to win approval of 3 people his Gran selected, before she passed, that will hold the future of his land. Scarlett is one of those people. Scarlett meanwhile is trying to find a way to break out of her father's grip. Soon Jesse and Scarlett find a way to help one another and in doing so they repair the broken friendship and trust that Jesse caused a few years earlier. And in doing so, they fall deeper in love, because both have been in love with one another their entire lives.

The story is written beautifully. You feel their pain and struggles. You feel their love and hopes. Their journey isn't easy. And even once past the pain and hardships, they still need to find a way to grow independently. This part of this story was also so nice to read, because it was real. Jesse and Scarlett love one another deeply and know they are meant for forever, but that doesn't mean that they don't want to find themselves first and learn to stand on their own two feet. Like I said, this story has become a favorite of mine. If you love her previous books, this one will not disappoint.
