Ace is in his final year of college and is drowning in his hockey schedule, classes, and duties as frat president and captain of the hockey team. He never really wanted to come to college and go straight to the NHL. With his skills and the amount of teams knocking on his door, why bother? But for his dad’s sake and in honor of his mom who had passed, he goes. But final year is getting harder juggling so many responsibilities and expectations. But he never expected that his coach would bring his own brother to the school to watch out for his hockey players. Or that the connection between them is one Ace never could have predicted. Luke came to this school as a favor to his brother. He never expected the possessiveness that fills him to be directed to the hotshot hockey player on campus. Or the feelings that come with it later as they explore this new very specific type of relationship. Ace and Luke were something else in this story! Hot and heavy and their banter was pretty great. They have this super strong connection and while both were convinced they would never have strong emotional connections to someone, that comes down the longer they spend time together. They fall so hard and quick that they truly don’t even realize it happened until it was too late! I really enjoyed getting to know these two guys and watch them fall for one another. There was a lot more to them then they first appear and it made the story that much sweeter as it went on. Definitely don’t miss this one!

JJ is tired of moping around after a guy who wasn’t really interested him to begin with. So when his friends continue to pester him about going out and hooking up, he finally agrees. But with some terms. JJ isn’t much of a hook up. He prefers getting to know someone and even relationships. So at the very least he wants to meet up for dinner. Meeting Hunter takes him by surprise. And turns out exactly what JJ needs. They have a fun night together and though it won’t be more than that, it is exactly what JJ needs. This is just a fun story that basically gets JJ out of his funk and ready to move on. we meet other queer football players who I am going to assume all get their own books eventually. And we get to see JJ move on a bit and get ready for his own full length novel. Definitely interested to see where this new group of characters takes us!

Jones knows his current relationship isn’t good. So when he comes home to find his boyfriend cheating on him, it is easy and a deep relief to be done with him. He knew this guy was never the one. And truthfully Jones still thinks about the guy who left him behind ten years ago. Because if there was someone who meant to be with Jones it was Ryan. So when Ryan shows up back in Kither Springs after all these years with a little girl by his side, it doesn’t take long for all the anger and hurt to come back but slowly slip away. Because the two of them still fit. Even after all this time. And this time Jones is getting his answers to why Ryan disappeared. Ryan never liked breaking his promise to Jones all those years ago. But now he has a chance to make it right. He returned home after losing someone he loved and to raise his daughter. Karla will always be his priority but being reunited with Jones and watching him care for his daughter like she is his own? He knows he is in trouble. And the more they spend time together and reconnect, the more Ryan is determined to not repeat his past mistakes. He isn’t letting Jones go again. He just has to prove that to him first. I really loved this story! It was so sweet and adorable. I loved how Jones and Ryan got a second chance. I loved how easily they became this little family, dog included, like they simply were always meant to be that way. I loved getting to know these characters and watch them fall in love all over again. My favorite of the series so far and I can’t wait for the next one!

As it turns out, I doom our date from the beginning by not taking note of the weather report. A lightning storm strands us on a small island in the middle of the lake with a tiny cabin and only one bed. This could be awkward and disastrous if we manage to survive the storm.

And when there is an auction for dates to raise money, Peyton is sure that maybe his crush will finally show him he feels something. But to his disappointment, his coach does not bid. But there is someone else who has had feelings for Peyton for a while and now finally has a chance to act on them. Dana has had a crush on Peyton for a while now. Dana works for the coffee shop on campus and he loves when Peyton comes in and flirts with him. But asking him out has been a challenge. But he can’t help but bid on a date with Peyton when this auction happens. Now he has a chance to go out on a date and try to tell Peyton how he feels. But neither expect their kayaking date to be interrupted by bad weather where they are stranded on an island in a small cabin for a few days. A curse? Or a blessing in disguise? Because Peyton is finally waking up to what was in front of him all along and that maybe this man in front of him is actually a better match for him than his crush. And for Dana he finally gets to know Peyton more and realize the more they get to know one another, the more they have in common. A really sweet novella! I liked how these two fit together so well. And how they turned what could have been a disaster into something fun and meaningful. Would love to see them appear in more future books!

Breedable by Crea Reitan - 4/5 Stars

I love Crea’s books, so I thought it would be fun to read her short story in this anthology! In her short story, Luken and Iri are struggle to conceive a child. And time is running out. For where they live, they have a year to conceive or else they cannot be together. And for Luken and Iri, that is not happening. They have known they were meant to be since they were kids. Letting one another go? Impossible. Not with how much they love one another. But with the clock ticking, they’ll have to figure out what to do if they are unsuccessful. It’s time for Plan Bs and final tries and remedies. Can they do it? Omegaverse is such an interesting concept to me and I definitely have not read many. But these characters and this world was definitely interesting! I wouldn’t mind seeing more.

Kyle has never truly forgiven himself for the mistake he made when he was younger that nearly resulted in the loss of his clanmate’s life. After that, he vowed to make sure he was the best doctor he could be for his clan. Taking his responsibilities more seriously and not getting distracted. However, in doing so he has pushed a lot of those who love him away. Keeping everyone at arm’s length and wearing himself down in the infirmary to make sure if he is needed he is there. Fun hasn’t been a thing for him in a long time. But everything changes when Lexi and Ethan enter his life. Lexi’s job is to help orphaned dragon children. And when Ethan is brought to her after being dumped by his parents because they realized he was a dragonshifter, she is determined to help him. First is contacting his dragonshifter father. He may not have ever known he has a son, but he has a chance. If he will answer his damn email. Determined she goes to the clan with Ethan and confronts Kyle. Neither are prepared for what meeting another will do. Kyle’s surprise at having a son is big and his fear that he will not be a good one worries him immediately. But a little coaxing from his dragon and Lexi, this strong woman who is waking up something in Kyle, well, he wonders if maybe a mate and son are in his grasp. If he is brave enough to take it. Loved this story! I loved Lexi’s spirit and determination to help the dragon children. She wasn’t afraid to go toe to toe to Kyle and it was a delight watching him meet his match. I loved that Kyle found a reason to let go of the past and embrace the future with his son and Lexi. And it was really fun being back in the US for a dragonshifter book!

Maya has been in love with Conor for three years now. But things are…complicated. One, he is her brother’s best friend. And two, he is about 15 years older than her. All of which she is fine with. She is an adult who knows what she wants and what she wants is Conor. The man who became her best friend and was there when she needed someone most. But Conor is well Conor. He is stuck in his head and age thing is really getting to him and he is overall convinced that they can’t be together. Now Maya is on her way to her brother’s wedding in Italy and she is about to see and speak to Conor for the first time in ten months. But things are about to change for them. Because Maya is starting to realize something. And it’s time to find out once and for all if there is hope for their future. I loved coming back to these characters! If you haven’t read Not in Love, definitely do so before this book! Because one, spoilers but also two, you just will appreciate and understand everyone a lot more. I really loved getting to know Maya and Conor. These two are clearly so right for one another. Brining out the best and balancing one another out. And while Maya can acknowledge her feelings, Conor is just so convinced that Maya should be with someone her own age and someone who isn’t as messed up as him. But like Maya says, age is just a number. I loved learning about their history and seeing them finally getting their happy ending. A fun story overall! I laughed a lot with this group. You definitely don’t want to miss this story!
