Assistant to the Villain Book 3: Accomplice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer

Assistant to the Villain Book 3

REWARD OFFERED: Apprentice to The Villain wanted for treason (light), magical property damage (alleged), and one incident involving a weaponized scone (accurate). Frequently seen with a grumpy frog (crowned, judgmental). Answers to “Evie” or “Stop that.”

Evie Sage didn’t mean to become the right-hand woman to the kingdom’s most terrifying villain. One minute, she was applying for an entry-level position that promised “light paperwork and occasional beheadings,” and the next, she was knee-deep in magical mayhem, murder plots, and an entirely inappropriate crush on her brooding, sharp-jawed, walking disaster of a boss.

Now, with a magical prophecy unraveling, assassins showing up in the break room, and a suspicious amount of frogs wearing crowns, Evie has to figure out how to survive her job without setting the kingdom on fire―or her dignity, which is hanging by a very sarcastic thread.

Being evil-adjacent was never part of the five-year plan. But then again…neither was falling for The Villain.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Loving this series! This is probably my favorite so far. And I’m super excited to read the last book in the series after that ending! Too bad I have a bit of a wait. Things are getting quite interesting for Evie and her friends. The magical prophecy is unraveling and when they learn the missing pieces, they are set on a new mission. A mission that includes freeing Kingsley from his curse. In the meantime, they still have a traitor to find, assassins to avoid, and just so much more obstacles to overcome. But the humor is still killing me in this series. You just end up smiling and laughing the whole way through with everyone’s wits and antics. The slow burn romance between Evie and Trystan is finally making way more progress in this book! The wait was well worth it. And we still have another book to go! That ending was pretty great too. We got a lot of reveals, some of which I think to say we all knew was coming, but I think there are plenty of surprises left as we head into the final book of the series. And I can’t wait to see how it all comes together!
