| The Games We Play Season 2 Book 11 |
Part of The Games We Play series
A small-town, slow-burn MM romance full of hockey, heart, and second chances
Roe Monroe
Taking a lap in hockey purgatory wasn’t in my plan, but I guess even hockey players don’t plan on blowing out a knee, much less picking up some bad habits on how to deal with the injury.
Fox River Falls wasn’t in the plan either, a town where gossip spreads faster than a slapshot and the local coffee shop doubles as a soap opera set.
I’m here to earn my way back to the NHL—not to flirt with the grumpy carpenter who hates everything I stand for.
Too bad his kid worships me, his scowl kind of turns me on, and his quiet, steady belief in me? Yeah, that’s dangerous.
I’m not here to stay. But he’s making me want things I swore I’d given up on.
Gabe Thatcher
I build things with my hands, raise my kid, and avoid the gossip that Fox River Falls loves so well.
Roe Monroe is exactly the kind of trouble I don’t want, don’t need.
He’s cocky, chaotic, and everything I swore I wouldn’t let near my son—or my heart.
But he sees something in me I stopped believing was there. And when he looks at me, I forget my name.
Somehow, he fits into the life I thought I was building alone.
The Games We Play Season 2 is the second season of this multi-author minor league hockey romance series! All titles run concurrently through the same hockey season and the books can be read in any order, so jump in anywhere!

My Review: 4/5 Stars
Roe never imagined he would be sent down to the minors of hockey. But after a bad knee injury and some bad habits, well he didn’t have much a choice. But his bad habits are done, his knee is in better shape. So now he just has to prove he is ready to be back playing to tier hockey. But to do that he has to succeed in this small town where everyone knows everyone’s business the moment you do something. Which means everyone knows Roe has started mentoring this kid Jamie on the ice and how Roe can’t take his eyes off Jamie’s dad, Gabe. The grumpy carpenter who seems to have a thing against hockey but loves his son more than anything even if it means supporting his son’s love of hockey. There may be some tension between Roe and Gabe but it’s only a matter of time until they realize just what kind of tension that is. And it’s unlike anything they have felt before. I really liked Gabe and Roe’s story! It was cute and sweet and just a fun story all around. I loved how everyone in town is just in everyone’s business but only in the best way. Their commentary was the best. I also just loved watching Gabe and Roe fall for one another bit by bit. So sweet!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
