My Review: 4/5 Stars
This book had me laughing the whole way through! It was ridiculous but in the absolute best way. Leaf is exhausted and it shows. Inheriting his aunt’s farm has only lead to his sanity slowly fading away. Sure, he needed a break from being an ASL interpreter but now he is taking care of a farm where he is allergic to most of the things, has no idea how to take care of said farm, and there is a groundhog, Michael, who is legit terrorizing Leaf and eating all the veggies he plants. Leaf’s focus has been trying to get rid of Michael and it has led him to a pretty deep rabbit hole. He finds himself on the dark web asking for TNT in the hopes that this is the answer that will take care of his Michael problem. And maybe if he was sleeping and thinking a bit more clearly, he would realize how bad an idea of it. FBI agent, Thorne, is close to his forced retirement. He is losing his hearing and has vertigo spells that make him unable to go in the field. He hopes to have one last case that makes him feel good about his career. So when he finds someone trying to buy TNT to blow up someone named Michael, he wonders if this could be it. He never expects Leaf. Leaf is the opposite of a criminal in every way and Thorne can’t figure out how Leaf can the same person who wants to hurt another person. It doesn’t add up. Which I’m sure you can figure out why. The attraction between them is strong and they find themselves unable to let go of the other. All the while Thorne is trying to figure out what exactly is going on at Leaf’s property. So ridiculously fun this story. Watching Thorne try to figure out how everything adds up but also being baffled by how much he likes Leaf was very entertaining. We also end up with some crazy twists! Overall, I had a blast reading this story. And with some sneak peeks of the next couple in this series, I just can’t wait!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
