My Review: 5/5 Stars

I am a fast reader but I feel like I broke some sort of record with how fast I got through this book. This book was everything. Such a satisfying ending to this series (well sorta, I am pretty sure SJM will return to this world at some point). But we are at the end of this pretty huge story arc nonetheless. And it was just amazing. My favorite of the series for sure and just when I thought the last book was incredible, this one stepped it up. If you haven’t read the previous books, don’t keep reading because spoilers for what happened in those. I won’t spoil anything for this book and trust me, you do not want to be spoiled. The last book ended in chaos and pain. Everyone separated and in their own paths. Bryce is doing what she can to survive and get back to her world. Hunt, Ruhn, and Baxion are trying to survive the dungeons of the Asteri where they are being tortured. Ithan is trying to save the wolves’ future. And Tharion is trying to live with the consequences of leaving the River Queen’s service. Everyone is a mess. But not for long. So many revelations in this story. Questions are finally answered. Truths revealed. Surprises both small and huge that maybe you could guessed or maybe you didn’t even think about. (There were so many.) Plans are being formed to stop the Asteri once and for all and it will taking everyone working together to get to that point. I really don’t want to spoil, so all I will say is you definitely don’t want to miss this last book. Brilliant. Amazing. I expected no less from Sarah J. Maas.

And a note to those who wonder about Throne of Glass series and A Court of Thorns and Roses series if you should read them before Crescent City series. Yes, when it comes to A Court of Thorns and Roses. Things make a million times more sense. And if you can squeeze in Throne of Glass, you’ll appreciate the easter eggs of that world appearing a lot more in Crescent City if you are familiar with TOG. You don’t have to though. Not like you do for ACOTAR. Enjoy friends!

My Review: 5/5 Stars

I have to admit, it always takes me a bit to get back into this particular series in the BDB world. It’s always a slow start for me, but then it slowly comes back and then the story itself picks up, and I’m hooked! This was a very satisfying conclusion to this trilogy. Lydia and Daniel know the end of Daniel’s life is coming closer every day. But that doesn’t mean they will stop fighting. But first, they have to help their friend Gus who was kidnapped. It will lead to some unlikely help and some big revelations. We also get more of Xhex and John Matthew since Xhex is dealing with something of her own. Her grid is failing and things are happening that she has no memory of. She’ll have to make peace with the past once and for all if she wishes to have a future. Always fun seeing some great characters in the BDB world especially after the last release. And like I said, this felt like a really nice ending to this particular storyline. Def worth reading!

It’s Complicated Book 1: Their Ball Boy by Addison Beck

It’s Complicated Book 1

I’m a walking disaster.
I'm awkward, perpetually uncomfortable, and afraid of everything. Truly an example of natural selection at its worst.
After a series of dead-end jobs, I'm now working with my disappointed dad as a ball boy for his team of superstars. It's the only thing I’ve got going for me, even if I know it's only a matter of time before I fail epically.
Then I meet them.
World-famous soccer players Dalton Cross and Juandi Fernandez couldn’t be any more different. While one relishes control in all aspects of his life, the other takes everything day by day. They’re polar opposites, always butting heads, and always trying to one-up the other.
Somehow they both want me.
Dalton makes me feel safe, protected, and cherished—something no one’s ever cared to do before. Juandi makes me feel wild, free, and courageous—something that was sorely lacking in my sheltered life.
Being with them is a dream I never thought possible for someone like me, but the secrets we buried are surfacing, and I'm worried about what this means for our future together. I’ve never been the main character—never been the chosen one.
But this time, I’m willing to do whatever it takes to hold on to the two things I can't afford to lose.

My Review: 4/5 Stars

I could not stop laughing reading this book! Bryson is a bit of a walking disaster but he is an adorable one at that. His rambles will have you in stitches and while he may be insecure about it, he ends up finding two guys that think he is just adorable and love him just the way he is. Dalton and Juandi are always butting heads. Though Juandi has had a crush on Dalton for a long time, he is kind waiting for Dalton to realize that he feels the pull between them too. But Dalton has always insisted he was straight. But then they meet Bryson and Dalton really begins to question everything he thought he knew about himself. Including the connection with Juandi. And one thing leads to another and the three of them end up falling into a relationship that just about changes everything for them. Bryson who just wants to find love and be loved in return, Dalton who carries so much on his shoulders and is beginning to learn new things about himself, and Juandi who never could have imagined wanting to actually be in a relationship rather than just hook ups. The three of them are adorable together! Though there are still a few things that could stand in their way of being with one another, if they stick together they can their happy ending. Definitely a fun story! I’m looking forward to the next one.

Hateful Love by T. Ashleigh & Addison Beck

Silas:
I'm tired of feeling trapped in my life.
It’s just a never-ending cycle of trying to survive the day.
Luckily, I have Blaine to keep me entertained.
We’re enemies but despite him being everything I hate; I’m addicted to him and the things we do in the dark. Somehow, he’s crept his way under my skin, and I’m obsessed with the way he’s making me feel.
I don’t want to admit I’m falling for him—the golden boy—but he’s my perfect match in every way.
He gives me something I never thought I’d have and, even though we’re impossible, I won't let anyone stand in the way of us.

Blaine:
My life is suffocating me.
Perfect son, star athlete, ideal student. I’m overwhelmed—unraveling at the seams.
Until Silas flips my world on its axis.
My dirty little secret.
He’s my perfect escape from reality. I can let loose and feel good for a change. He makes me feel alive for the first time.
But he’ll always be someone I despise. He’s arrogant, the epitome of a bad boy and yet the longer we do this, the harder it’s becoming to ignore my growing feelings. He’s not what I expected, but he’s exactly what I need.
And now that I’ve had him, I refuse to let him go.

Hateful Love is an enemies-to-lovers, opposites-attract, secret romance that centers around the bad boy and the jock and all the things they do in the dark. Mix in some possessive vibes, prying friends, and corrupt politics, and Hateful Love will take you on a wild but bumpy ride.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Silas and Blaine couldn’t be more different. Silas is the bad boy where everyone assumes that he will follow in his dad and brother’s footsteps and end up in jail sooner or later since he is associated with the Aces gang. While Blaine is the golden boy of high school. Appearing perfect in every way. Good grades, football star, and all around great guy. But that is just the outer surface to both of them. Masks to keep everyone away and happy. Silas is getting tired of the life he is in. It’s the same thing every day and he wants more than anything to build a future of his own. And Blaine is drowning every day in the expectations that are weighing him down. It’s so bad, his panic attacks are happening more and more often. He is on the brink of breaking. But there is something that has been brewing between Silas and Blaine for a long time. And while they both think it’s simply hate for one another, it’s just another mask to cover the truth. There is finally a catalyst when a fight that begins and seems like it will end in a punch but instead ends with a kiss. And everything changes after that. It reveals everything they didn’t seem to understand and neither will be the same after. While it may start as the two of them just hooking up just because it turns into so much more. But there is always trouble brewing and if they aren’t careful this new relationship and their hopes for the future will be in danger. I adored this story! So, so good. This enemies-to-lovers story was done so well. You can’t help but love Silas and Blaine and smile at how these two fall in love. Their loyalty and feelings for one another are just so strong. We get some great characters and interesting story lines and I definitely cannot wait for the next book!

Arctic Titans of Northwood U Book 4: Icebound Rivals by Hayden Hall

Arctic Titans of Northwood U Book 4

Grayson Reed is into me.

We are each other’s fiercest opponents in the rink. But now, Grayson’s eyes are stripping me down whenever we cross each other’s paths.

I don’t mind being the object of another guy’s desire, but I also refuse to jump into a stranger’s bed so quickly. It’s just that I’m not really dating material.

And of all the guys on Earth, Grayson Reed is the last person I would give a chance. But if there is one thing everyone knows about Gray, it’s that he is not a quitter.

The more I push him away, the more he tries to get closer. And as he struggles to win me over, I stumble into the very thing I swore I would avoid.

Love.

Our struggles on the ice are nothing compared to the conquest of each other. And when I find out about the dare that had brought us together, my trust is shattered. It will take a lot more courage to fix this mess than it took to win a date with me. And I just don’t know if this playboy is brave enough for a relationship or if his story ends with the conquest.

Icebound Rivals is the fourth novel in the Arctic Titans of Northwood U series. It features one demisexual winger, his playboy opponent, ice-melting heat, and heart-rendering sweetness. You can expect all the usual Arctic Titans shenanigans, a leap from youth to adulthood, and a rollercoaster of emotions. Icebound Rivals can be read on its own, but it's best enjoyed when read in order.

My Review: 4/5 Stars

The start of hockey season has been going great for Grayson and his team. He is confident that this is their year. So confident that his friends make a bet with him. If they lose against their rivals, the Titans, then Grayson has to ask one of the Titans out on a date. And when eyes are set on Avery, Grayson realizes he finally has an excuse to be near his long-standing crush. But anything that starts with a bet, never truly ends well. In the meantime, Grayson will give this his all because he truly does want a chance with Avery. And he’ll put everything he has in it to prove it. Avery isn’t the best when it comes to social cues. He rarely gets humor and sarcasm from his teammates and he isn’t really one to smile. When Grayson first approaches him, he is beyond wary and sure he doesn’t want anything to do with him. But he finds himself giving Grayson his number and little by little Grayson breaks down Avery’s walls. And for the first time in a very long time, Avery is finding that he is happy. That Grayson makes him smile and doesn’t think he is weird and is patient as they slowly build this relationship. It’s a foreign feeling to be pursued and happy. And Avery finds he isn’t opposed to it. But like I said, nothing that starts with a bet ends all that well. At least for a little while. I really enjoyed Avery and Grayson’s story! They are opposites in a lot of ways. While Grayson feels like this bubbly sunshine personified, and Avery is this stoic and serious person, they actually balance one another out really well. But also, they both are wearing masks too to protect themselves. And only with one another, do they really let their guard down and feel safe to be who they are, knowing the other will never judge them for it. Great story overall! And I’m looking forward to the next one!

Letters of Enchantment Book 2

The epic conclusion to the intensely romantic and beautifully written story that started in Divine Rivals.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

A great conclusion to this series! Two weeks have passed since Iris returned to Oath without Roman by her side. And though she searches for any information on him, she can’t seem to find him. That is, until an article is published in the paper. Roman was “saved” by Dacre, the other god in this war. But Dacre is not to be trusted. Not when Roman has to recollection of who he is and how he came to be Dacre’s reporter. But bit by bit, his memories are trying to return to him. And when he gets a letter through a wardrobe, things are starting to feel familiar once again. It will take everything Iris and Romance have to find their way back to one another and end this war once and for all. This story did not disappoint! So many twists and turns, as Iris and Roman work on opposite sides of this war to end it. At this rate, no one will survive Dacre and Enva’s fighting. But together, with their friends Attie and Tobias and many others, they just may have a chance. I really loved this story and series. Iris and Roman were just two of the many characters I fell in love with while reading. You definitely don’t want to miss the conclusion to their story!

My Review: 5/5 Stars

I’ve been seeing this book pop up on my radar for months! And then I saw a sequel was coming and figured let me wait until that one is out because I’m sure there is going to be some sort of cliffhanger that will make me wish I had the next book immediately. And yes, that proved to be true. And the hype about this book is well deserved. This was such a great read! A war between two gods leads to mortals caught in the crossfire and forced to fight. While the book has magic, there is a historical feel to it as well. And it follows our main characters Iris and Roman. Iris is desperate for her brother to return from the war he enlisted in months ago. It is just her and her mother, who is an addict to who seems to slip further away every day. To hold everything together, she drops out of school and works for the Oath Gazette in the hopes of becoming a columnist. But it won’t be easy against Roman Kitt. Her competition and rival and the person she can’t help but feel connected to. They’ll exchange witty banter and keep the other on their toes. And when Iris isn’t in the office, she is at home typing letters to her brother. Letters that disappear when she puts them in her wardrobe. Perhaps it is wishful thinking to think her brother is receiving the letters, but reality comes crashing down when she gets a reply telling her that he isn’t Forrest. Roman Kitt has known since the first letter he received in his room that Iris is on the other side. He is conflicted to tell her or not, but doesn’t wish to embarrass her. And then one day he decides to reply. His identity is a secret from her, but he can’t help but fall for her more each day as they continue to exchange letters and he reads her words. But then a tragedy strikes. And the next thing Roman knows, Iris is gone from the paper. Gone to the front lines of the war as a reporter. And… well it’s only a matter of time until he follows her. Because if there is anything he knows after so much has happened, is that he wants Iris by his side. I really, really loved this book. The writing style was great, I adored Iris and Roman. Opposites in so many ways yet they matched. They balanced one another. And it was clear how strong their feelings for one another are. The story ends with me only wanting to grab the next book. Because I just have to know how their story ends!

My Review: 5/5 Stars

We’ve been waiting patiently for the last daughter of Demeter to get her story for what feels like forever now. But it was well worth the wait! Eurydice needed the year to pick herself and be the woman she is today. And not just her by Orpheus and even Charon as well. The time has come for change. For all of them. Eurydice admits to Charon that though she has fallen for him too, she really doesn’t know if she can give her full heart to him. Not when she doesn’t have the closure that came from the heartbreak with Orpheus. A part of her heart will always belong to him. Charon has been patient when it has come to feelings for Eurydice. He knows he may not have all of her but even a part of her is enough. And if they are finally going to start something then maybe it’s time for to make things happen. When Charon visits Orpheus he tells him if he wants to make things right, come to the lower city and do so. Charon never expects Orpheus to immediately follow through. And none of them expected the chemistry that sparks when the three of them are all together. They all get that immediate feeling that this is how things are supposed to be. The three of them. Together. We get some much needed redemption from Orpheus and an understanding of what happened between him and Eurydice. Everyone has changed so much and the versions of themselves they are now are humbled and are in a place to start building their future. I really liked their dynamic in the sense that you could see just how well these three fit together in a relationship. They have a nice balance to one another. Even this early in their relationship. And it was nice to see them stepping into their own and getting the happiness they deserved. And if it wasn’t enough to have this in the story, we have a whole new level of change when it comes to Olympus as a whole. Lot of things go down in this one and by the end, everything has changed. We finally get some answers to mysteries we’ve been waiting on by these answers tend to leave more questions and an end to this story that will change everything for the future of Olympus. I cannot wait until the next book! And just the rest of the series that is promised. There is a lot of story left to tell and I am here for it!

For Your Love Book 4

Wishes on a star just don’t come true.

I used to believe in fairy tales, but I’ve kissed far too many frogs that never turn into Prince Charming. The glass slipper never fits. I’m always the ugly step-sibling; never the princess. They’re the same crushing blows every time.

When will you grow out of this phase?

Why can’t you be normal for once?

This was cute but now you’re just embarrassing me.

Why is it so difficult to accept that I like myself the way I am? With my pretty dresses, pastel tattoos, and sparkly nail polish, I like to feel beautiful.

All I want is my happily ever after. To be cherished and adored and loved for who I am. I desperately want to find my forever person.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

I will start off by saying that I didn’t read the other books in this series before reading this one. Unusual for me, but I just decided to dive right in. Which after reading, you can totally do! And it just makes you want to read the previous books to get more info on some characters and their story. So this story follow Vulcan! A giant of a man who actually works in a forge like him namesake and is by far the most softest, teddy bear, and sweetest man ever. He loves his colors and being feminine despite his size and appearance and what could be expected from that. And despite being hurt so many times by those he hoped to fall for, he still finds strength to be true to who he is and not hide himself. He may still have some insecurities but he is finally gonna find his person. Or should I say persons. Because only a man with so much love to share has the capacity to give it to more than one man. Luca is the one who finds Vulcan first. And immediately he knows that Vulcan is the missing part of this family he has built. Luca is married to his childhood best friend and love Orson. And their open relationship over the years opened to two more men in their lives Wren and Zvi. They all live together with three cute as anything kids. And though the idea of Luca falling so fast and ready to bring Vulcan to their home may startle them at first, it is clear the moment they meet Vulcan that he is different and that he belongs with them too. This family has such a beautiful dynamic, it is clear the love and respect they all have for one another is true and secure. And when Vulcan is brought in, he can’t help but worry that this is too good to be true and they’ll get sick of him. But bit by bit, they earn his trust and Vulcan finds himself falling for all of them right back. I really adored this story. I couldn’t put it down. You just can’t help but love Vulcan first of all. There is something so sweet and innocent about him that makes you want to love and protect him as much as Luca, Orson, Wren, and Zvi do. And you just want to see him get his happy ending. Such a great story all around!

Vancouver Orcas Book 3: Game On by Amy Aislin

Vancouver Orcas Book 3

When he broke off his engagement to his team captain's brother the day before their wedding, Jamie Jamieson swore he'd never get involved with anyone associated with a teammate again. Getting traded to the Orcas is a chance at a fresh start, but one glance at his new housemate, and Jamie knows he's in way over his head.

Dorian is his new coach's cousin. And his team's social media coordinator. And his housemate.

It's the trifecta of bad ideas.

Dorian Shore doesn't do hockey. He's lived by that rule for years, ever since a season playing as a kid left him with emotional scars. But his new housemate—a big, buff, beautiful athlete who gets under his skin—makes him seriously consider doing a hockey player.

It’s not a good idea.
They live together.
They work together.

When the sparks between them ignite, will it be game on or game over?

My Review: 5/5 Stars

I couldn’t wait to get Dorian’s story after having the previous two Shore cousins! And it did not disappoint. Dorian usually avoids hockey, but for the sake of his best friends and cousins, lately he has been trying a bit harder. Like becoming the Orcas’s social media manager and even hosting the newest member of the Orcas’s team, Jamie. But he didn’t plan for the connection that sparks immediately with him and his newest housemate. Getting involved with one of his cousin’s players isn’t a good idea. Right? But what really tugs at Dorian is the fact that Jamie has his own reservations about being more than friends. For Jamie, leaving his previous team couldn’t have happened faster. After a mutual break up with his ex, who is the brother of the captain on his old team, things took a bad turn. Half the team no longer treated him like a friend and Jamie started hating going to work. And when he heard the Orcas’s wanted him, he pushed his agent to get him traded. And lucky for him it worked out. But being on a new team is a bit scary to Jamie. He doesn’t know how they’ll react to a new team member. And then there is Dorian. So many reasons for not getting involved with someone connected to the Orcas, but every moment he spends with Dorian, he falls a little harder. And it is only a matter of time until he will let himself follow his heart than let his past hurt his future. I adored these two! They were beyond cute. Their dynamic was so great and fun and sweet. You just wanted to cheer for these two to take a chance! I couldn’t put this story down. It’s such a fun world to be in!

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Atlas thought he was headed into what he thought would be a great season of college hockey. He has worked hard to get where he is and he is a vote away from team captain. That is until Wystan arrived shortly before that and has everyone charmed by his personality and his skills on the ice. Atlas’s captaincy is suddenly gone and to make matters worse? Wystan and his mom are moving in with him since Wystan’s mom is dating his dad. Let’s just say Atlas is not having a good time. Not when his own dad seems to prefer Wystan over him. And the cherry on top? As much as Atlas can’t stand Wystan, he is still attracted to him. Wystan can’t understand exactly what Atlas’s deal is with him. Since the moment he arrived it’s been hostile. And things don’t seem to be getting much better. Well, at least until they put in all their anger and frustration into hooking up. Things only just get complicated from there. Especially when things slowly shift between them. But more problems arise as the two of them try and work together on this team and figure out what is between them. I really loved this story! I couldn’t put it down. Atlas and Wystan had such an enemies-to-lovers dynamic that grew into so much more as the story went on. They ended up balancing out one another very well and supported each other through all the ups and downs. Really great story! And I hope there will be more coming in this series!

But my return is marred by tragedy: the death of a High Court member, leaving a coveted seat that must be filled at once.

With each court required to present a royal contender, the choice falls squarely on me.

As the royal Summer Court's entrant in the ruthless Comortas, where only one competitor will survive, my lack of powers brands me as the likely first casualty, especially when only the strongest of our kingdom enter.

But the danger of the tournament pales in comparison to one of my rivals—the Winter King. The very one who I’m forced to enter into an alliance with.

He’s the most dangerous of them all and the mortal enemy to the Summer Court. Yet, his icy demeanor and hateful glares hide a storm of secrets and an inexplicable connection that draws me closer.

In the Comortas, every heartbeat could be my last. While I should be focused on survival, the Winter King is the one person who understands me more than I do myself.

But love, in this deadly tournament, isn’t just dangerous—it’s fatal.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

My favorite from this series so far! Ivy finds herself stolen away to a new land where she learns that not only is she Fae, but she is the true heir of the Summer Court. And to make matters worse, her court and the Winter Court must compete in Comortas. A competition to fight to the death where the last standing will take their place on the High Court. But Ivy’s memories of being Alina are slow to appear, as is her magic. She’ll have to do whatever she can to survive. But then there is the King of the Winter Court. She is drawn to him in ways she doesn’t understand. Yet he is her enemy. Right? Past and present collide the more she is in this world and where she slowly learning the truth. She’ll fight to the end but will it matter if she loses her heart in the process? I really loved this story! Definitely my favorite from this series right now. The action and romance was fantastic and I just couldn’t put this story down. I can’t wait for the next one!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
