Himbo Hitman by Saxon James

What do you do when you’re a hitman … who’s terrible at his job?

At first, I thought it would be an easy payday. A few pew pews for bad people, a couple of suitcases of cash for me. People have done worse for an honest living. Probably.

The problem is that after a couple jobs, I’ve never actually managed to unalive someone, and not for lack of trying. Apparently, a basic requirement of a hitman is being a good shot.

Despite my constant duck-ups–that my boss knows nothing about–I’m given another name, and I very nearly follow through. Only after obliterating this guy’s ear, and his fervent pleading to spare him, I’ve sent him into hiding and collected the cash anyway.

But wanted people are hard to hide, and bad guys don’t like paying big money for loose ends.

Now that Van Gogh has shown his face again—sans ear—I’ve scammed my way into his security team, which is sort of ideal since I’m now highly wanted as well.

Unfortunately, we have some “trust issues” to “work through” from our meet-shoot, and with the gorgeous bastard’s brother missing, he refuses to lay low until they’re reunited.

I’m not sold on the plan honestly, but this guy has me questioning my sexuality along with my career path, and I’m at the point where I’m determined to see a job through to the end.

Or die trying.

But hey, at least then I’d finally deliver a body.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Perry is in need of a job. He’s a bit chaotic and always struggling for money and just doesn’t want to disappoint his sister anymore. He really wants to do better. Somehow he comes to the conclusion that being a hitman is the way to go. He knows the bar he goes to and the friends he sees there are all in this group who get those kind of orders. Surely, they can help him out. And weirdly they do. But pretty quickly Perry realizes that he is terrible at his job. Seeing as he can’t actually work up the nerve to kill anyone. But things turn complicated pretty quickly when the last time he tries, he hits the guy’s ear. After helping him out and telling him to disappear because someone wants him dead he thinks that is the end of it. But it won’t be the last time he sees Reilly St. Clare. When Reilly’s brother goes missing, he’ll do anything to get him back. He just never expects to be on the opposite end of a gun and have his ear hit to be part of it. Clearly something bad happened to his brother and he needs to find him before it’s too late. And when he meets Perry and realizes he is the guy that shot him, he surprises himself by letting Perry talk him into working together to figure out what is going on. So much chaos in this book! Perry and Reilly find themselves in quite a crazy situation with no idea how to find Reilly’s brother and not get taken out at the same time. But then add the fact that these two become very interested in one another. Perry has never been attracted to a guy before but there is something about Reilly that reels him in. And despite everything that has gone down between them, Reilly accepts the crazy fact that he is very much into Perry. It’s adorable and silly and actually very sweet once these two begin to feel more for one another. Chaotic really is the best word to describe this book and in only the best way! It was fun and hilarious and I loved getting to know these characters as they figured out how to survive everything they accidentally fumbled into. Would definitely not mind more stories with some of these other characters we met!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
