Longwood U Book 2: Wicked Confessions by Crea Reitan

Longwood U Book 2

What started as a job has led to some frightening confessions.

Edin

One mistake can ruin your life. I learned that at fifteen when my hormones got the best of me and I was landed with an unwanted pregnancy. My parents decided to punish me and forced me out of the sport I love to raise my child and provide for my newly forced-upon-us-both marriage.

One mistake can cost a life. My life. If not for my best friend who rescued me and my daughter, I’d have ended it all.

It’s been three years and all I want is to embrace this new lease I have on life - my daughter, school, and hockey.

One mistake can change your life. When an “adult” job leads to some complications, I realize that maybe I didn’t build my walls high enough to keep everyone out.

Elijah

My obsession started through a screen as I edited the videos my fraternity’s basement project Confessions produces. His name is Edin and I’m enthralled. While I don’t participate in shoots often, I make an exception.

Edin is everything - Beautiful, mysterious, needy. He’s also very clearly broken. The very first time we’re together on screen, he breaks down after the shoot and I hold him for what feels like days as he trembles.

He refuses to let me into his life, no matter how many times I partner with him or run into him completely coincidentally. That is, until he has a hockey accident that leaves him bed-ridden and he needs help with his daughter.

My Review: 5/5 Stars

Oh man. I LOVED this story. I could not put it down. Highly recommend reading the previous book before diving into this one because you will have better appreciation for it. And reading the For Puck’s Sake series too! Just because this is like the sequel/next generation series. So familiar names and faces appear. But I was so excited to read this one after learning Edin was our main character. We met him in the last book and the guy needed a happy ending after everything he has been through. Edin has been struggling for a long time. He became a father as a teen and it went downhill from there. His parents made sure to tell him how bad he messed up and the woman who was the mother of his child made sure he knew how much she hated him and this situation and even their daughter. It was toxic as hell. And lead him down a dangerous path until his best friend and his best friend’s husband pulled him out. Three years later, he is in the best place he could be at the moment. He is in college, playing hockey, and taking care of his daughter, Morgan. But though he is in a better place, his walls are still up high. He never wants to risk someone breaking him. Never again. But he doesn’t expect Eli. Eli who doesn’t allow him to hide behind his wall and bit by bit breaks it down. And though he tries to fight it at first, he finds he can’t. Not with Eli who seems to get him and shows how much he cares for Edin and Morgan. Eli is entranced the moment he sees Edin. And when he actually gets a chance to be near him, he can’t stay away. He’ll be whatever Edin needs him to be. But he won’t give up trying to gain Edin’s trust. To show him he doesn’t have to do it all on his own. Ugh, my heart. I couldn’t get enough of these two as they opened up to one another and faced the challenges that came their way. The book had a range from heavy moments to so much laughter. Edin’s daughter is a trip and I loved how she had the hockey team and the frat house where her and Edin lived, wrapped around her finger. So many laughs and sweet moments throughout this story. I absolutely adored it! I’m so excited to see who our next couple will be!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
